Beat it in 1:04 with 104%.
I had to playthrough it a couple of times because I kept missing an item. I did find the newly added missile tanks, but my first playthrough I missed a Super Missile Tank somewhere in the game, and my second playthrough I missed the Power Bomb Tank in Maridia. I'm trying so hard to beat my record of :57, which I made on Project Base v0.6, but seeing that there are more items make it seem difficult.
All in all, I had fun with this one, can't wait to see if there will be a v.0.8.

Well, until Grime says it's done, I very much suspect there'll be many more versions yet, let alone just a v0.8. :^_^:

@advancedpillow
Thanks, mang. Glad you dig it.

@Dessyreqt
I'd like to have the backflip turned into its own separate pose eventually, so damage boosting off of enemies & spikes behaves the way it originally did (flying back without being moved upward at all), while the backflip move would act as it does right now.

If you don't like the unpredictability of Phantoon/Draygon, you probably won't like that I also would love to be able to randomize other enemy behaviors in certain ways then, hahaha. So, say, zeb flies would emerge from their pipe at a slightly randomized speed, then fly toward Samus at an also slightly randomized speed, stuff like that. Anything to make each play-through more unique, y'know? Imagine not knowing exactly how long a sidehopper is going to take between jumps. Each time you enter Crateria mainstreet, the geemers' movement speeds are a bit different. You see a Rinka spawn, but will it move really slow, or faster than you expected? Oh shit, those lava dragons in Norfair are firing a random number of fireballs at an inconsistent rhythm?!

What if geemers did between 02 and 08 damage to Samus? What if enemies stayed frozen between 5-10 seconds? You get the idea.

@GoldenTorizo
There will definitely be a version 0.8 and beyond (though it's a long way off), unless I die first...
unless somebody picks up where I left off after I die.

Also, this is finally happening. Just one quirk I need to have looked at before it's finished (intro scene transition fades are acting weird):

Project Base's version of Justin Bailey:

I'm still not sure why the enemies are so intimidated by the thought of Samus throwing paper aeroplanes at them... :O_o:

You should probably get one of those joystick docks for your phone.
I know I'm late, but most phones should support connecting a Dualshock 3 to them natively via USB. You'd just need an OTG adapter.

Updated the first post with a Project Base'd version of Auximines' Justin Bailey patch, woo! Forgot to mention that on here...

GoldenTorizo

I done broke my record on this hack. I beat in in 56 minutes.

so i made an map you need to download it here https://www.dropbox.com/s/v42nd0vdhkjdngk/pb%207.png

Vismund Cygnus

That sure is a handy map of Crateria there.  :heheh:

Kitsune_Phoenix

That is a very well done map, Retro.

I know that this is a bit off-topic, but since that one person (I completely forgot their name) made that Event system patch for Fusion... Does anybody seem keen on the idea of making a Project Base equivalent for it?

Is wager that if someone was really that keen on doing it, they'd be working on it. This goes back into the whole argument of "nobody really hacks fusion", "no audience for fusion hacks", "no big enough hacks of the GBA games to get any interest".
Maybe you'll have to be the one to do it.

Kitsune_Phoenix

I have neither the software nor the experience to do such a thing. I could try to kickstart the idea though in a new thread.

Vismund Cygnus

(Sorry for keeping on the off-topic track.)
Well, the software's not so hard to find. As for not having the experience; we all start somewhere! Hell, I couldn't even edit door connections in SM a year ago. It's all about screwing around with it, and learning through that. There's no real way to gain experience aside from doing just that. And given that you're so keen on the idea, and more to the point, you seem to have a lot of ideas for Fusion/ZM, who better to do that than you!  :^_^:

Kitsune_Phoenix

...I do not know what you are talking about. Citations and documentation are needed to validate your claim that I have the most ideas for F/ZM.

Back on subject, I really should get a new emulator, one that my computer won't PMS about.

You know this is the project base hack thread right? I feel like that's not really on, subject per se.

Kitsune_Phoenix

So I can play this hack, I mean. I forgot to clarify.

But yeah, I cannot wait for the next PB. Sorry for derailing the subject earlier, everyone.

The Monster of Surrealton

Finally have time to play this. Will hopefully complete it today.

Jiffy

So... I got stuck.
And this is why.
Quietus

This is Project Base.  You do not just 'get stuck'.  Instead, you find secret entrances to permastucks.  It's all about class.

begrimed

So, there's a PB 0.7.1 in progress that's gonna drop soon. Fixed the permastucks that got pointed out in this thread, readjusted Samus' suit palettes a bit to (hopefully) satisfy complaints about some of her color choices. Gonna go over my whole to-do and knock out list items that sound least like a time-consuming pain in the taint. ETA is whenever.

Now's the time to let me know about any small irks you've have about the game that can maybe get smoothed out! SPEAK.

sup more merged rooms.

Crateria gauntlet
Spazer area
Wrecked Ship attic

Quietus

I'd suggest doing something with the Spazer area's ceiling, as it looks really plain.  Maybe have some form of pillar in the middle for support, with its tiles behind Samus, so it doesn't completely break the room up again.

Jiffy

How about Grapple Area.
Change this...

To something like this.

Therefore you're saving 2 rooms.
begrimed

Yeah, those are the types of areas I'll be merging and reworking a bit. That grapple area is on the list; another is the clusterfuck of ugly CRE rooms that surround ice beam, and the rooms that surround wave beam. All groups of smaller rooms like that will eventually be mashed together (with extra screens being turned into bonus content when possible), like so:

SirAileron

That save station was a safe (not hot) area before... are you gonna make that whole room not hot? Or do we get dangerous save rooms now? :O
