I'd love to tackle PB with it's open possibilities, but with classic physics.

I truly hate to say it cause this is such a labor of love, but I can't stand PB due to all of its radical physics changes.
It would be amazing if you could release a version that doesn't change a thing in that regard.

Quietus

Uh-oh, better listen up: DMan has posted a request, and it's post 777 for him, so he's feeling lucky. :yay:

Quote from: QuietusIf it's not too much work, I'd like to place a request for a patch (when released) with no changes to physics / movement, etc, so it's a beautiful, repaletted version of the original game.  If you did, then it's just possible that I may never touch the original game again.

Quote from: GrimeYeah, that's been on the agenda since near the beginning. Also a version with no palette or background changes at all; just the physics and enemy behavior. I'm not gonna worry about those until PB is as finished and polished as it can possibly get, though.

Every time I see PB I read it as peanut butter. Makes things confusing.

Kenta's gonna be streaming what I have of 0.7 so far in about 30 minutes. His stream is http://www.twitch.tv/poke2mon3

Quietus

Cool.  I just so happen to have finished what I was doing.

The preview stream was very successful, though I did forget one missile pack somewhere so I only got 99%, also had to take a few breaks for dinner and helping out my parents with something. I also fell asleep for about 10 minutes at some point for an as of yet unknown reason <_<; Here is the twitch highlight, enjoy the vid! http://www.twitch.tv/poke2mon3/c/3600095

Weterr123

Dman, nice re-emphasis... I actually laughed out loud

passarbye

Thanks for the highlight kenta, i wasn't able to watch it last night because of college.

Yuki

Of course, any important stuff gets highlighted. Lots of cool new stuff now!

New route that takes you underneath the wrecked ship.

passarbye

looks very good imo, looking forward to every bit of v0.7!

Quietus

I'm beginning to think that with these new additions and whatnot, PB could actually become a hack in its own right. :^_^:

Jordan5

well with the extra couple rooms it's already going to be better than 90% of half-hacks

I understand turning down the volume of the game to make your voice easier to hear, but turning down the game to 1% and turning up your mic to 100%... it makes it impossible for me to hear the awesome music :(
The point of the stream was my reactions to different things, so audio was important, and that was the mic balance I worked out with viewers.

Quietus

I agree.  It wasn't supposed to be any form of Let's Play (or whatever), but a playthrough for input on game design from viewers.

The only edited tune right now is red Brinstar, which was just me playing around with a few values.

I just chose the red Brinstar music because I love the song is all, lol. I won't drastically be changing PB's music. Mostly, Ill just be mixing and remastering it, so to speak. Playing around a bit more with panning, subtle percussion edits, that sorta thing. That's pretty far off, though. I wanna learn everything I can about SNES music editing before I start making song changes. Because of how iconic SM's music is, I have to make sure any changes I make won't screw up the tone of the original songs or piss people off, haha.

Also,

Digital_Mantra

With all the drastic changes you've made to this project, changing music doesn't sound like a good idea. You yourself said it was iconic.
Therefore, any music changes would have to supplement the exact notes and styles of M2/M1. If you're up for minute changes like that, could work..

Quietus

Hmm, does this mean we're getting a room to explore behind Draygon..?  Not that it'd be much exploration - just a straight room linking back to the sandfall?
