Update: Due to my being a complete freaking idiot, I ran into some issues which is causing crashes and complete palette errors. Because of this, I'll be copying level data to a new ROM (Since I just learned how that process works.) What this means for you: well, now that I know I can do this and I'll make sure I repoint level data correctly, I'll be expanding upon the previous made areas so I can hopefully double the current size of this hack.

Alrighty, where to start?  I guess the first thing to point out is the heat effect reverting your suit back to its original palette. This is easily fixed, beauty salon -> condition -> heat, you can either copy/paste your palette for all of it, or use the "heat glow" button for a nice effect.

Next off I want to say I really like the purple in what was green brinstar. That and the black/whiteish Crateria are the only palettes I liked though. I'm not a big fan of using a different color for doors, it really only creates confusion for players, and has no real advantages.

Crateria for the most part seemed well tiled (asides for the bgs... those could be much better), but what was shown of Norfair could use some work.

Other than that though, it looks pretty good. Good job buddy! :D

I'm going to go back to the original suits, thanks though. I'm glad you like some of my tileset changes. As for the doors, they are only slightly altered and will keep a similar appearance to the original to remove said confusion. I will work on bgs at a later date, haven't gotten into that yet, and yes, I know Norfair can use some work as I'm not very experienced with that tileset.

Oh please keep that Dark Blue and neon green suit it looks amazing in the video or down the line release a patch for those suits there stunning... BTW from the video looks like it can be one epic release when its all done... Keep up the good work you got talent man. Can't wait for the release...

Here is the Samus palette, you will have to edit in for heat, speed booster etc, as I only did it for normal settings. And as for the video, a lot of it is outdated and has been improved upon, glad to have your support though.  :^_^:

I thought that since I had a major set back, I should reassure you all that everything is going good and my remodeling is still going according to plan. Here is proof, these picture are the previous and my newly updated Landing site.

Don't worry about the how moving on the ground will be (I'm referring to the slope going into a solid block, I assure you that it will flow nicely,) other than that, let me know what you think.

Haha, in all honesty I like the old landing site better, because those colors are awesome. Maybe use the old colors on the new landing site, while keeping the blue doors. Just a thought.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do as far as the palette goes, I'm planning on doing all the recoloring when I'm done with level design.

Thank you for the palette but I have no clue on how to apply to the game, but thank you for sharing it though.

1. Open your rom in smile.

2. On the top of the program, go to tools, then in tools, go to beauty salon.

3. In beauty salon, on the left side where the copy and paste buttons are, there are the buttons named import palette and export palette.

4. Press the import palette button, then go to where you have the palette file located. And after the palette is loaded, then click on the save to rom button to save the palette to the rom.

I hope that help's solves your problem!

Progress:

Crateria - 90%
Brinstar - 20%
Norfair - 13%
Wrecked Ship - 0%
Maridia - 1%
Tourain - 0%

Just thought I should update this for you all as it is way outdated.

Progress:

Crateria - 95%
Brinstar - 70%
Norfair - 20%
Wrecked Ship - 1%
Maridia - 12%
Tourain - 0%

I'll be bombing out Maridia for the next two weeks or so, hopefully we can get this entire bad boy done by christmas? (NO PROMISES!!!)

Tyjet66

Well, I figure I could throw you all another teaser of how my Crateria work is coming along, it's just a morhpball tunnel to an item so it's nothing spectacular, but I would like to see your opinions on it:

Entrance is the two sloped tiles at the top right.

I already replied on m2k2, but from now on, and for saving on repetition, I'll post them here in future. :^_^:

Either way works as I post on both sites and I check both frequently, so what ever works best for you.

Hiroshi Mishima

Granted it's just my opinion, and lately that seems to be setting you off so hopefully this won't.. but I genuinely like the old version of that room. Maybe it was just the palette you used, but something about that crimson sky with that bone-white ground.. looked very good. :D

So yeah, kind of agreeing with others who've said they liked the older palette. Maybe use the new room with the old palette, I think someone else said? It's your hack and how it looks is invariably up to you, I'm merely stating that I liked the palette.

Tyjet66

I will probably revert to using that palette, I'm not quite sure yet, I'll keep you updated.

VideoGeemer

I'm agreed as well, just for the record. That old color pallette is *seriously* awesome.

Tyjet66

The status of this project is in a terrible position, I wont go into details. As for the old palette, if anyone wishes to use it, let me know and I'll post it for you.

I think it would be a benefit to the community if that palette were available for others to use.

... And I hope everything is okay for you, man. :(

I really like the last norfair pic in your main post; the one with the giant pointy rock in the middle you have to navigate, it looks like something I would see in a real cavern, sort of... idk i like it. I also like your new landing site better than the only one, because it looks more balanced between the metal and the rock, but the old palette trumps the default definitely. Anyways looks good and I'm going to play stardust after I'm done with ice metal (I'm a little behind :s). Hope your project is doing ok.

Edit: that huge brinstar room looks awesome too

Tyjet66

I'm sorry.

When I was still in my previous hacking streak, it seems that I had neglected my hack thread, so I will bring everyone up to speed:

I completely restarted Supernova. I have gotten new palettes and new scenery custom made for me. I'm not very far, but I have a decent amount done. I will now show you a few rooms (the screwed up backgrounds look good in-game):

Draconis Kenjishiya

Wow, that grass is so green haha. After scrolling through this entire thread, I was intrigued by your level design and particularly the deep purple Brinstar...and was sad when you said it was in trouble. But it's all good now? Either way, your level design is interesting, and it doesn't seem that hard....mid-air morph and DBJ I can take, it's when a hack requires Mockball that will make me go -.-;

Keep it up. Love the Crateria shots.

Tyjet66

Trust me, it is all good now; I had originally screwed up when repointing level data, causing many rooms to become corrupted and me loosing most of my work. After much thought, I had decided that I would scrap the project and make it a much more higher quality. I did that for three reasons:
1. The level design was OK, but not great.
2. Going along at that pace with the items, would create a short hack.
3. The quality of my rooms were less than that of which I wanted.

So, I completely restarted, and pumped this bad boy out.

As for tricks required, yes, DBJ and mid-air morph will be required at some points, as will single wall jumps (not very hard ones.) I will more than likely have harder tricks required for faster navigation and 100% though. So, while even moderate players will be able to complete this without to much trouble, the more experienced players will also enjoy this.
