The FX layer use 4 colors: A transparency and colors A B and C. Currently, The whole screen will tint with color C which makes it practically unusable for coloring the FX liquids/particles. I'd like for the space above an FX liquid to use the transparency instead of color C. I suspect it's just a hex tweak but finding the right place is complicated. Where is the place to make this tweak?

Have you tried mixing all the combinations from the A/B drop down menus in SMILE for the FX until you get one that looks right? I was playing around with this and also tweaked the number value for the "Palette Blend" on the FX giving different results. I don't have an answer for you, but noticed no one else answered, so maybe this info is of use if you haven't tried it already.
