[SM] Toggling tile visibility for top layer.

It would be cool if hidden tunnels revealed themselves when Samus goes inside. I imagine it could be done with a new BTS. So here are the questions.

Can the tiles with higher priority than Samus be toggled to invisible at all? Or maybe set to display at the lowest priority and brought back up later? Could only certain groups of tiles be toggled, or do they all have to change? Can the tiles be made translucent instead?

This is a cool feature that lots of games have, I believe including other Metroid titles. If there's already a patch for this, cool. Otherwise, how does one mess with tile visibility?

It can be done, though it works by disabling / enabling layer 2, which obviously means you need to be more creative when building rooms. Check DSO's 'Layer 2 Transparency BTS' here. Some examples: One - Two
