I think I might have gotten myself stuck in Norfair.

I don't have speed booster or power bombs and everything around me seems to require them.  I can't backtrack because of the shaft I used to get down here.

There is also a huge piece of unexplored area below the save station that you missed

I missed a tiny midair morph down there the first time I checked it.

Am I correct that I'm only seeing two Brinstar guardians on your map?

You're correct I lost it in the process.
Thank you it is updated.

Here is my SM Redesign: Axeil Edition 1.5 Map

Great job on the new map!  I noticed one problem, though.  In the room directly above the exit to Tourian, you show an Energy Tank and a Missile expansion, but the Missile expansion is only from an earlier version of the hack.

Thanks! Tell me if you see something else.

It keeps turning me around when I let go of the grapple beam without any directional input.

I replayed the game and found a lot of details to improve.
For those who want the latest version it's always the same link.
By the way, I also found a yellow door in Norfair north-western Zebes express!!!
Not really an issue, I just want to mention it.

For the purple blocks you misspelled "Impact Blocks" as "Inpact Blocks." Just wanted to let you know.

Also, will the mapstation website be updated to include Axeil?

Thank you, it is corrected.
On the Map Station website you select Redesign on the 2005-2007 section.
The link is in the bottom of the map ''Redesign: Axeil Edition''.

Okay, what's up with this acid?! I have a good 700 energy, and the acid appears to be draining my energy at a normal rate, but as soon as one energy tank hits zero, I instantly die. Is this supposed to happen? For now, I'll just go exploring somewhere else I guess.

Acid Damage:      Acid is super corrosive and will weaken suit integrity very fast!
STAY OUT OF ACID. Samus needs to stay out of acid for a few seconds before re-entry.
You should notice when you jump into acid that after a very short amount of time, you'll begin to hear the low health alarm (or something similar, correct me if I'm wrong/this was never implemented) at which point you'll have a couple of seconds to get out before you die. Basically, acid bad, stay out

A Dummy

Yeah, also Samus should start flashing orange with increasing speed to show how close to dying you are.
However, acid does not take away any reserve energy you have, so that works as a second chance if you have any reserve tanks up.
There's a secret morph ball tunnel in that screenshot, but you need Gravity Suit to get what's back there, anyway, so ignore it for now.

Actually, I realized there was something there, but I couldn't quite reach it even with a diagonal bomb jump. I'd fall like a pixel short of entering the tunnel. I knew there was something there due to my shots going through.
PS: Stuck in Maridia now... is there a way out or did I go somewhere I wasn't supposed to be able to?

Recently started playing this and I just got super missiles. It has some very cool new features! About the hint system though:
Wouldn't it be better to wait with the super missile location hint until you've made the player go get the bomb? I was pretty annoyed that I had to backtrack across the currently known map to go get them just to access the super missile after the plant boss.
I think the idea is that you see things in order:
You pass wall-jump walls, but can't jump on them, a number of times on your way to Spore Spawn.
You then have to kill Spore Spawn to get wall-jump. When you kill Spore Spawn, you also see more wall-jump walls above him.
You then get wall-jump, and think 'Oh, I'll go back up the walls I can now jump off, and see what's up there.'
You then see bomb blocks, and know you probably need to go find bombs.

If anything, your grumble should be having to trek that far into Brinstar, just to backtrack across the entirety of Brinstar and Crateria to get bombs, just to backtrack back to where you just were to get Supers to continue. :^_^:

"just to backtrack across the entirety of Brinstar and Crateria to get bombs"
Yes, that's pretty much what I said

Did you have to have to have wall jumps to get to the bombs? At some point early on there was a point of no return in crateria. Another thing I find odd, regarding wall jumps, is the inconsistency in which walls can and can't be jumped off of. Sometimes the normal crateria walls work, sometimes not. I understand wanting to control the progression but it's a strange way to do it.

Mostly, if a wall looks bumpy or rocky, it has footholds to kick off of. If it looks smooth or wet, Samus cannot kick off of it. There are some times where a wall looks rocky but can't be jumped off, but mostly it sticks true to the formula.

I am very curious how the hell you ended up in maridia?

Yes, but it makes sense in sequence. If you didn't see the Supers first, you wouldn't know that you needed to get bombs next. :^_^:

Yes, as there's no way to get back up the long falls in Crateria.

I took the Express Elevator. For some reason, one of Maridia's elevators was unlocked, regardless of which express elevator I went to first. It's possible something I did accidentally triggered that elevator unlocking, but considering my map was not at all connected to it, it definitely wasn't hitting the door from the other end. In fact, when I left, I still had the green doors on the outside end.

I will look into the code tomorrow and fix the error if its not the emulator. Thanks!

Just finished this!  A little over 15 hours, and 89.1%.  Missed a reserve tank, and at least 1 PB (I gave up on the IBJ).

Redesign was the first of many hacks I played.  That was probably 4 years ago.  It was brutal, and I mostly hated it (because I was lacking hard in the skill dept) but at the same time was amazed and intrigued.  It felt like a major accomplishment to finish it, even though I had to take many trips to YouTube to find my next destination, or figure out a technique I didn't know of.

This iteration of the hack is all the good aspects of that version x3, and without all the things I hated.  Well, by this point mid-air morph is a breeze for me, but that auto-morph was still really cool.  The same goes for walljumping.  Tourian was unbelievable, you are a GENIUS.  It was well worth this playthrough to experience that.

I don't know why anyone would even consider playing the original edition now that you've released this one.  This is the definitive version.  I would not recommend the original version to anyone now.

I think this is actually my new favorite.  You are an amazing developer, very good job!  If you ever get the time and motivation to crank out another hack I'm definitely looking forward to it
