SM Auto Run (?)

I was playing Redesign earlier, and after playing for a bit, I realized my run button is giving out a little on me (being slightly sticky and unresponsive). And not only that, but it's just a little tiring to keep holding it to run or use Screw Attack. So, I am now looking for some way of having the game hold that button for me.

I've heard of Control Freak, then I tried using it along with Redesign... Yeah, no, that didn't work out. Not only were there crashes, but spin jumping was very glitchy.

I tried a bit of googling, but I couldn't find anything useful. So, I was wondering, is there any sort of (small and compatible) patch that could enable auto running? Or at the very least a hex edit I could put in myself? :pwuh:

Just as a heads-up: If you do figure it out, and you have run always held, platforming is going to be a bitch in Redesign once you get the Screw Attack. :^_^:

:whoa:
Riiiight...

Dammit. I really wish Control Freak didn't alter player jumping at all, because then it might be compatible with Redesign. CF had a button for toggling run and walk... Bleh.
Super Metroid, y u make it hold run and not toggle run. :bounce:

Oh wells. Either I just keep going or I get a new controller... Probably the latter. My jump button is getting sticky too.

Sounds like it may be time for a new controller.  I've been lucky, as the old PSX controller I've used for years is still going strong. :^_^:

Yeah, well, my PS controller is crappy. I blame Logitech for making it so.
Any good brands/types of controllers that you could recommend to me?

Sorry, but I don't know.

As I said, I'm still using my old PlayStation controller with a USB adaptor.
