I simply lack the motivation (And time) to continue drawing up my own, at least for now, mainly because I can't hack if I'm constantly trying to come up with ideas, which is the other half my problem. Anybody got any that aren't completely overused or oversimplified? Or even any advice?

1) You could rip them from another game that you like
2) trade one of the ones you've made with someone in the trading centre for a differen't tileset.
3) Check the Main Site for GFX. Plenty of them aren't used much, if at all.
4) Use vanilla tilesets with a nice new palette.

Mostly all graphics from Ice metal is avalible for use, while a bit more simple, I don't think anyone have used them in a hack beside me.

Generally speaking you'll find GFX either in the Collab hunt thread or on people's sites, unless you check the main site out.
This is probably a good place to mention that when the patches section is finished it'll be updated with most (if not all) of the available to use tilesets that are laying around.
It would also be a good place to mention that anyone who wants tilesets/GFX from their hacks made publicly available to say it here so that I can post them on the site.

I usually start out with the most essential tiles for the theme I'm going for and evolve it as I go.  This is for M1 so you may have  other limitations and challenges I'm not aware of.  If you have the core tiles ready then why not start a new hack to help develop the tile set.  You could do a fairly small hack, just a few rooms for each area to use as a scratch board.

Rather than searching the Collab thread, you should just check the main site under patches. I've already gathered the vast majority of them. Another thing you should consider is mixing tilesets. It's not really too hard to do, and will still fit perfectly within the style of SM.

Also, just as a side note, you should use DSO's Tileset Repoint patch before messing with any GFX, you'll save yourself alot of headaches, trust me.
