Old Post: [spoiler]At long last, a new GBA Metroid modding tool has been released! With a batch of improvements i have waited years for, i thought it would be time to continue work on my mod. (Re)Intoducing; Metroid Super Mission!
It started out as a simple texture replacement, but is now growing to be a complete redesign.
With textures, layouts, and even physics modeled after Super Metroid, this mod promises to be a grand undertaking, one that I refuse to let die.

Along with a patch file, i will be uploading resources used for the mod every once in a while.
Palettes, rooms, tilesets, and a BPS patch file are all included in the rar file.
Trunar's item toggle is part of this mod, i do not claim this as my own.
Anybody is welcome to do whatever they want with my work, now and forever.[/spoiler]

After a long while, a forum update! Progress has slowly continued on Discord, lack of forum activity is solely due to my general apathy towards forums in general. I was recently reminded that this page exists, so i thought i'd update it to show people that this project is not forgotten or dead.

I've brought a few batches of images, some old some new. Since the project i was originally contributing to was completely scrapped, i no longer have a reason to keep anything a secret from the public.

Edit Again: A quick minor update, the project is not abandoned, I just take very long breaks between bursts of progress.

This is meant to be played on normal, although hard mode might work with some major mobility tricks to get early tanks.

Only noobs play on normal I thought you could only get one missile tank before the first missile door, everything else requires bombs (which are behind the door).

This seems promising. What else are you adding? Below I have a few suggestions...

Are you going to change Samus' Suit sprites? Such as adding shoulder pads to the Varia Suit.
You could change Samus' Screw Attack sprite to the Green one. :)
You should also make Spring Ball an individual item to replace remove Power Grip.

I plan on changing the varia suit and screw attack, but i plan on keeping zero mission mechanics for the most part.
My goal is to change the visuals to be more like super mission, but i might end up changing a few minor mechanics such as fall speed or speed booster energy drain, if i can figure out how. Im currently working on altering how ridley looks.

I think so too, but there might be a couple sequence breaks i forgot.

Hahah, Super Zero Mission was fun... Metroid Super Mission, I hope, is just as fun as it was.

Good to see new hacks starting up since I vamoosed from the site for a while.

Are you really just changing visuals, and not recreating Super Metroid using Zero Mission's engine?  :cry:
In case I'm misunderstanding your meaning, I'll ask some questions I wanted to ask in belief we'd see Super Metroid recreated with the engine:
Will there be be creative puzzles like what Super Zero Mission had?
Will you implement some of the alarm systems from the Space Pirate Mothership into the Haunted Shipwreck? (Hey, the Shipwreck could very well be the blown up mothership)
How do you plan on piecing together the bosses that weren't present in Zero Mission?

There's a crocomire boss patch but it's not really like super metroid's.
This definitely needs the menu patch... but then the wave beam really needs to be changed.
