Hello! I am creating a 4-Player Cooperative and Versus "Metroid-vania" Action RPG Side Scroller for multiple systems, including PC, Mac, Ubuntu, Android, Iphone, Ouya, and more in 2014! It is heavily inspired by SNES JRPG's, and a playable demo will be out soon.

It will have a Single Player Campaign that you can also play Cooperatively and level up over 16 playable characters and several secret characters. There will be a Versus Mode and also tons of Mini-Games within the main quest! The focus for this game is on the characters and the story, while also delivering intense action and solid game play. I will update this thread with more information, screenshots, and other updates as they become available. You can also really help us out by voting us up and following us on Steam Greenlight if you would like. I would love to hear your feedback on our project, positive or negative! Thank you for your time and support!

You can try the new playable demo and contribute to our campaign at:

I like the look of the artwork.  I'd be interested to see some gameplay footage, so I can better assess how it plays, though it looks like the combat could be similar to Terraria.  Keep us posted. :^_^:

And in those 7 words you had me interested.
A co-op Metroidvania definitely sounds interesting to say the least. I'm with Quietus in that I'd like to see some gameplay footage, but you've piqued my curiosity. I look forward to hearing and seeing more.  :^_^:

Backgrounds look bland and jpeggy, which seems like a hard mismatch to foreground scenario. The water in the very top shot looks even worse. The characters themselves are cartoony and out of place with black outlines, but then again, this makes for an easy-to-identify visual style for the enemies so they won't get lost in the foliage, so it's not entirely bad. Also, you posted this topic in the weirdest board.

Also, for people who were requesting a video, the Steam Greenlight page.

EDIT: And now that I watched the video, the impressions this project is giving me is sub-par. I congratulate you if you gathered and/or created all of the resources by hand for this project, but it seems like such a huge arbitrary cluster of graphical styles from just about everywhere that the lack of consistency ultimately bothers me.

Hey, thank you very much for the feedback. I am all ears to every little bit of input anyone has to say, and I try really hard every day by myself to make all of the necessary changes and adjustments.

The trailer is really rough around the edges, it was made during the very early alpha stages of the game, so it's not as visually impressive as it could have been I'm afraid. I'm going as fast as I can to release both another trailer and another playable demo, however!

Again, I really do appreciate any feedback, positive or negative. Let me have it! XD

Here are a couple of new screencaps! The first one shows off a little action and a little atmosphere with the leaves falling. The other one is displaying the new HUD and the new field of view darkness effect present in some areas!

There will be a playable demo within the week, and our Indiegogo start on October 18th!

Looks pretty good, though it's hard to sometimes see what's going on since everything dies under a wave of attacks. :^_^:

Also, is there a single player option?  Or is it intended to be multiplayer only?

NickRidgway

Yes, there will be a single player mode, also!

We are in the final days of our fundraiser campaign:

Wow, this doesn't seem way too idealistic at all.
