Might as well utilize this thread. Updated faster items patch with better space usage and a couple of extra options.

Download armips, put it in the same folder as the patch. Put your ROM in the same folder as well. Pull up the patch file in notepad, and look where it says .open and look in the quotation marks. Rename your ROM file to what's there. Then right click your patch file, open with, armips. Or, drag your patch file on top of armips.
