EDIT: Is it possible to fix it so the music doesn't get stuck should you go to the Space Pirate portion of Chozodia early? If you trigger any space pirates and the music changes, it will change to the music during the stealth sequence (after you've escaped detection) and seems to be stuck on that even if you leave, with the behaviour also persisting should you try saving elsewhere and reloading.
This has already been fixed for the next version.

I can't bombjump because i don't have bombs and powerbombs don't give you even single bombjump.
You don't need bomb jumps to reach hi-jump.

Just might be unbeatable.
Thanks, I found an issue in the item logic.

Is beatable, thought I can't get 100% because the Wave Beam requires Wave Beam to get.
It's in Norfair, as the item right above the missile block above the second Kiru Giru. You can only kill the thing from the front (with Bombs) as far as I'm aware.
But in order to get to it you have to go through a tunnel that requires you to Speed Boost while shooting the Wave Beam to destroy the blocks in the way.
A Power Bomb would clear the blocks, but there are some regular bomb blocks also there that will make holes which will make you unable to charge your boost.

EDIT: Disregard, I was wrong.

Cpt.Glitch

You will not need wave beam. You can charge a speedboost in the vanilla pre-wave room (the one with a sidehopper in between two bomb walls). From there you'll have to do a short but tricky spark chain back into the hallway with all the shot blocks. I've had wave there as well, well before this version.

Ah, you were right. Just finished with that and then went and 100%'d the game.

Just curious, but is it possible for a seed to have Screw Attack in 0, and Morph ball somewhere in Kraid?
I haven't encountered a seed like this at all, and I'm unsure if you even considered the fact that the screw attack can break the bomb blocks in the room before the elevator to Kraid in the making sure that a seed is beatable or not.
There is at least one item (ok maybe exactly one, that missile tank... unless i forgot another item) in Kraid that can be obtained WITHOUT THE MORPH BALL, if you have the screw attack to break those bomb blocks. I kind of forgot whether that item is behind a missile door, if it is, it kind of ruins the whole point, but hey...
At least some way to vary the path would be great...
Oh, an interesting option would be an "Area Modification" option.
The SM randomizer I use has that, like making the missile door right after morph ball a normal door, and some anti-softlock changes...
Imagine the route differences if the morph ball tunnel in the second room... was made bigger...
(And room to go over the chozo statue/a patch to activate them without morph, if you have chozo hints on)
Missiles or supers could be 0 and morph could be 12, or  12 could be screw attack and once again morph could be in Kraid!
And you could even add more area modifications if you wanted to, like maybe replacing the crumbling blocks with shot blocks at the elevator between brinstar and crateria, to allow for early crateria! (And replacing some pb blocks and speed booster blocks with shot blocks too so it could actually be early crateria)

Edit:I'm an idiot, you need either morph, space jump, ice, or maybe high jump to even get out of the morph ball item section. I guess space jump/ice/high jump being at 0, screw attack at 3 could still be solvable with morph at... oh... it DOES require missiles to reach... that's... unfortunate... if only that red door was a blue door, then morph at 27 would be possible...
Such a shame... unless there's an item somewhere in kraid that can be obtained with just screw attack, and either space jump, ice, or high jump...

Edit: Sorry I didn't read the whole thread, avoid long beam until bombs seems to be a requirement.

Varia Suit is locked behind the long fire hallway in Norfair, which normally wouldn't be a problem if you had enough health, problem is, with the placement of the tanks, its near impossible to survive the damage even when avoiding all enemies, most of the tanks are locked in areas that require fast movement in lava/water/acid.

Correct me If I'm wrong, but I choose the option to not require bomb jumps or wall riding

Cpt.Glitch

There is one e-tank you can get in kraid an one you can get in the large norfair shaft. That alone is enough to make that room. Another e-tank exists in the third brnstar room but you may have to bomb jump to it. Speedbooster is in Crateria which will pretty much guarantee you can survive the heat room if you shinespark through it.

brandonspikes

Yep, you're right, I have to admit, this was a funky way to get the suit.

Sup, started playing yesterday, here are my settings :

I found one little problem, it seems that the Speed Booster upgrade is locked behind speedboost blocks in Chozodia, in the underwater section.
I chose Beatable when patching the rom, so I'm guessing I can still beat the game even without getting Speed booster?

Speed booster is not required to beat the game.

Augment

I have one:
Seed: 1296362766
Settings: nb45AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQKAgWeH

I selected 100%, but bombs and space jump are in pirate ship (around where zero suit Samus spawns and second power bomb locations), and speed booster is under mother brain. Power grip is in Ridley, which can't be escaped with bombs (I believe). For the life of me I can't figure out if this is seed can be finished.

Is there something I missed?

The current version has issues with the item logic, so it's probably an unbeatable seed. A new version will come out soon.

Cool. I was hoping it was more that I missed something, and could learn a new trick. Either way, thanks for all the awesome work that you do.

hobojoe007

Is there a way to randomize the palettes of the different suits?

Cpt.Glitch

Not in the current version.

Hi, for some reason the program of this randomizer does not work at all for me, it doesn't open for me at all,i checked on Task Manager, the randomizer shows there ,but a few seconds later,it's no longer there and the randomizer never actually opened at all,is there something wrong with the program, cuz in earlier versions the i was able to make randomizer seeds, with no problems at all.

What operating system and version are you running? What are your device specs? (You can use speccy for this if you are on windows)

gr8tmaker

thanks for replying,my specs are >Windows 10 Pro and also attaching a DxDiag with it,i just find it very weird that this latest randomizer version isn't workng for me,also letting you know that when the Randomizer was released it worked perfectly, but when the newest version came out, it just wouldn't open even though it appears in task manager.

I feel so blessed to exist in the same timeline as a Zero Mission Randomizer
bio you are truly amazing!  I can't thank you enough for making this!

Maps are attached to post

*Infinite Bomb Jump (IBJ) disabled, Walljump enabled, PBs b4 Chozodia = Yes, Beatable
*Power Grip & Screw Attack are in Ridley, and Speed Boost is in the charging larvae room (X: 19~21, Y: 11) in Norfair, which is... blocked on all sides by both the larva and speed blocks.
*Funnily enough, Varia Suit is still in its vanilla location, but the lack of Power Grip means you need to IBJ to get thru the pre-room.
*You also need to IBJ to go down the secret shaft (X: 23, Y: 1~13) to the right of the Norfair speedboosting shaft since you dont have Pow Grip or Speedboost.
*I tried using the Kraid -> Norfair entrance to get around all the speedboosting stuff, but I don't know how you can get to the room that activates the conveyor belts w/o Power Grip... (EDIT: Nvm that wouldn't work anyways, I forgot that the passage is gated by Screw Attack lol)

This is as far as I can get w/o going to Chozodia for game, and there are quite a handful of instances where not having Power Grip forces you to use IBJs to progress.  Any ideas?  Going to Ridley just ends in a softlock because AFAIK you need either Speedbooster or Screw Attack in order to get back into Norfair proper after beating the boss, and the Screw Attack in Ridley is at (X: 3, Y: 8), which is behind speed blocks.

Thanks so much for your work on the randomizer! You've given me something to do in my spare time for the last month or so.

This seed is unbeatable (unstartable?) on hard mode. Maybe if you enable hard mode in the randomizer, super missiles shouldn't be considered a valid item at long beam? Because you only get one. I'm also only aware of two sphere 1 items (the missile pack on the way to Norfair and long beam), so if I'm missing some, let me know.

Thanks again!

It was brought to my attention that you can get out of long beam with one super using a specific morph shot. Sorry for the false alarm!

I seem to have encountered an issue where, without the space jump, i am stuck in the chozo trial room in the chozo ruins. What i currently have are super missiles, power bombs, the screw attack and the high jump.

I think you can infinite bombjump your way out.
