However, the Fusion Suit's armcannon does not look anywhere near as advanced as the original Chozo-built suit's armcannon and does not appear to be able to physically separate like that.

However, it might just seem less advanced because humans made it instead of alien bird people, and in science-fiction humans have he worst technology 7 times out of 10.

Um, I don't think the fed actually re-built any parts of her suit. They did surgical removal, and maybe gave her that blue spandex-jelly layer on top of the exoskeleton, but I don't think they rebuilt anything. No telling if they had to remove the cannon, though; it may or may not have had some biological elements to it the X could have resided in.

Either way, the cannon does change shape. Like, oh, I dunno... when you arm missiles? :V

As far as I could ever tell, the salvaged suit parts were were: the helmet (excluding the visor), the collarbone cover, the scaly exoskeleton, and the cannon. Some of these parts' different appearances can be explained by how the suit seems to spontaneously change when Samus picks up certain powerups. The suit seems to do most of the deciding on how to implement its powerups, rather than following instructions in the powerup software itself. The entire fusion suit's appearance, along with the more slender and elongated cannon, could be a dynamic adaptive response to half of the entire thing missing. Or the Metroid DNA. Or both.

And, while this is a pretty vaporous point... You could wear the Fusion suit in Prime. Turn Plasma on and you've got yourself the whole nine yards.  :heheh:

Edit: Actually, I think there's some serious credibility to that DNA reflection idea. If the suit didn't reflect her biological state to some extent, how the hell would absorbing the powerups from Core-X work? Even if she's not actually eating them and the suit is doing so instead, how else could the suit be eating them without reflecting Samus' ability to do it?

That is how faster-than-light travel works.
Circumstances, circumstances.  I can walk faster than light if it's stuck going through something dense enough, such as Bose Einstein Condensates.

Considering how all the other X that infected humans acted, I don't think we'll be seeing an SA-X protag any time soon.

Well, an SA-X did run to help Samus at the end of the game
Quote from: Kitsune_Phoenix on May 29, 2014, 12:12:26 PMthe SA-X forced you to take an alternate route that put you in the path of a note-so-difficult bossfight, allowing you to regain your abilities
Quote from: Kitsune_Phoenix on May 29, 2014, 12:12:26 PMhad to do it indirectly because its instincts would disallow
Quote from: Kitsune_Phoenix on May 29, 2014, 12:12:26 PMEdit: etc. etc. etc.

M'kay, all done with this thread. Bye now.

This thread is silly. Why couldn't Samus climb earlier if she got the Power Grip during her Zero Mission? Why do her items ever even evaporate, a recurring incident only explained directly in two games in the series ever? (Okay, three, but we don't talk about the last game. That game killed Metroid.)
