So I have been working on this 100% run of Metroid Prime played on Dolphin emulator at 1080p....

However, the excessive microstuttering on the Meta Ridley fight makes me want to cry, and I have a beast of a PC.
I'm stuck there until I can find a solution to that issue.

I did not want to make an extra thread for this since I thought if it would fit into somewhere then it would be here, but I have a request. Namely: I am interested in a certain Super Metroid video that contains an interesting glitch with which one can (seemingly) get through door-shells using an appropriate damage-boost:

The thing is that I tried to reproduce that trick but I did not figure out how it was done (although I did not try it with perfect positioning and  frame-advance, nor did I use both, NTSC and PAL) and some ideas (regarding crucial differences in what could have been done/happened in that video compared to what I tried) came to mind that could explain why I failed. So, my best idea was the following:
Since in SMILE, there exist the normal blue-shell tiles and then one can add other shells which are actually Post Load Modifications, I tested what would happen if one would put the door-shell-PLM there but delete the original blue-shell tiles, and during the test Samus simply went through the shell just like in the video since the PLM acted like air.
So, because it seems that this is a video of a hack called "Super Metroid Remake V2", I wanted to ask if someone has that original hack and the room in which the scenario in that video takes place and if one could put a screenshot of how this room looks in SMILE in here (and maybe tell what kind of block-types are near this grey door) since I would like to know the exact circumstances for this trick, because it might be quite relevant if it could be used in more general cases).
[Mainly I would want to know if the blue-shell tiles are missing in there too, but honestly I do not think that the space-pirate being graphically glitched up makes any difference at all since as far as I know this can be changed by simply adding the pirate´s ID into the list of enemy-IDs that are allowed for this room or by doing something similar (which for me does not seem to be that important regarding that trick).]
So if anyone can help, then thanks in advance, and if not, well then I will either have to test some more things or leave it as it is.

Hi everyone!
I found a strange and of course absolutely pointless trick in MB fight. I'm not sure that it's new, but it's was a first time whan i saw this junk and i think it's funny. So, the point is, that the power bombs can blockade "Gay-beam" animation.
P.s. Be careful with headphones please sound a little bit louder, than it should and let me know in comments below if it's new "trick".

So Alisa Orlova, actually this little detail is well-known (at least within the Super Metroid speedrunning community) and very old, and honestly, finding actual "new" quirks that are unknown to (e.g.) me will not happen that easily or often anymore mainly since I gathered massive amounts of information at the TASvideos´ Super Metroid thread (http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=550&start=5120 ,http://tasvideos.org/GameResources/SNES/SuperMetroid.html ), the Metroid 2002 forum (https://m2k2.taigaforum.com/post/glitch_topic_901.html ,http://www.metroid2002.com/3/ ) and by testing many ideas for about 3 years (even if we neglect my knowledge that I got due to experience by playing hacks) within my long research as sequence breaker/glitch finder (though there are not really "many" people that analyse the game left since the old/former glitch master Kejardon is inactive). If you want to know about a large amount of the current state of the art and progress regarding almost all the knowledge that the community possesses about the game´s mechanics, I´d ask you to take a look into this thread: http://forum.metroidconstruction.com/index.php/topic,3204.0.html
Mainly, if anyone wants to know if mechanics or tricks, details or techniques are known, in almost all cases it is sufficient to ask me about that since I analyse how Super Metroid´s engine effectively works in a systematical and almost exhausting manner. So, a lot of info pages about tricks in Super Metroid like the TASvideos page and the stuff provided at the Metroid 2002 forum is extremely incomplete and outdated.

Some of the stuff Retsupurae find is amazing. Kickstarter Nonstarter has to be one of the best Youtube series I've ever seen.
