I agree with Grime, that really looks like what Tourian looks like. Meta gets my vote.

FullOfFail

I went with Shadow personally, but I can totally understand why people like Met's room. Some pretty unique entries. Also, WildFire & Cloud, I see what you're doing with the torches, but it looks odd. I recommend using an enemy or animated tile for the flame.

It's not a flame, it's an artifact. :) The flame artifact will be reserved for the next week  :^_^:
Also I'm agree to say that Shadow made the better room.

FOF - i like the Megaman tiles, not the GB or the statue. 2/5

passarbye - that BG works better 4/5

DS/Cloud - have you ever seen that stupid mirror trick with the face? it looks bad when done to a statue, really bad. on top of that no filler tile with brick filler looks bad. i like the color. 1/5

metaquarius - awesome, i like all the custom tiles. the only issue is the transition between square and rounded 4/5

Shadow - excellent blend on your custom ground tiles. but its kind of...   ...filler needs some of the next shade lighter added. gives me ideas for tips 4/5

good work everybody

I'm sorry for that. I was just in a bad mood. :s

X-tradyte

Deciding to enter this room, bored and what better than to see this room probably not win? Oh well it's worth a shot. :P

Yes, the top is solid and it's a finished product.

Edit: oops, [img] tags slipped the mind, there you go.

Wanted to post this last week but didn't have enough time, but now since it's another week I can finally post this room up here:

Wildfire: Mountain palette is horrible, also too much contrast in the foreground filler. Why did you put doors at the top with nothing above them? You should have just left them as door bts over air.

Jamie: Very nice room. Almost too many layers of background rock lol, but it works anyway

no soup for you.

The reason I did that is because they are blocked off until you get new items. Also the palette is pretty, not horrible. I can name few people who love the palette. Take a gander at one.

<Rydia> ah
<Rydia> my rotw is the ship room
<Rydia> small eh
<Rydia> :P
<Rydia> oh well, I put it there for the bootyful culurs
<Charmander106> they are beautiful

Anyways, It's not really the greatest room no, and it's not competition for Jamie's room, really. It's just there because I decided to put it there.

Edit: Now I understand what you meant by mountain, the BG. Silly me. Sorry.

That's entirely subjective. A palette may seem bad to one person and good to another, so don't get so offended.
I agree with qactis btw, the background palette could use work. I'll have more on your palettes and such in my review post.

Agreed.  The point of RotW is for users to get feedback.  Tha means people will offer their opinions.  You should not feel the need to defend your work from any of the opinions given, even if they are not what you want to hear.

Meh, I wasn't really defending than trying to show that others thought otherwise. I would consider it backing my work up with proof rather. I know it is all about feedback and I respect and I accept it. I'm not trying to be harsh or turn it down or anything. ._.

Of course it's my opinion and you don't have to listen to me if you don't want to, but since you took it personal let me elaborate on WHY I think the mountain palette is horrible:

Super Metroid Crateria tileset uses the same palette for the mountains and the sky obviously. The reason that the sky gets darker as it goes up is because those darker colors are also for the darker/shaded spots on the mountains. Your sky is like 3 different colors of blue, so your mountains are entirely blue, and it looks bad. Even the clouds on the mountains are the same color as the mountains themselves.

[spoiler=Here's some other SNES games with wonderfully shaded mountain BGs]
King Arthur's World:
Contra Hard Corps:
Sunset Riders:
Demon's Crest:
FFVI:
[/spoiler]

Some games such as Lost Vikings have terribad mountain graphics but the standard for GFX in that game as a whole is fairly low, and the gameplay makes up for it. Super Metroid has an extremely high standard though. Most games that have mountains in their BG do it right.

Really? I thought the point was for users to vote for the room they liked the most out of those that where entered. YMMV I suppose, but I don't think it would be a far stretch to say that some people just enter to win.

Zhs2

And when they do, it's usually no contest when it comes down to who has the most amazing tileset.

X-tradyte

This is hard to choose from, between the Webbs. But I'm going to have to go for James this week, just because of that smexy tileset put to great use.
