I must say, i'm really enjoying the new pallete, i like it better than the original one so far.

Anyways, i just played up to phantoon, here are my findings.
This one here is really bad, i thought i was permastuck here till i spent 2 minutes mashing the d-pad and jump.

I tried to stand up here to fire missiles at mini kraid, this happened.

Pretty sure this ones a tile error, i was confused by this because it leads nowhere.

Not sure if it's intended or not, but this reserve tank doesn't spawn until after phantoon is dead.
It's weird that i seem to be the only one here finding these tile errors, i'm not even looking for them, i just randomly stumble upon them. XD

seastorm

I'm playing this hack right now. Great stuff, Green Kirby, I am really enjoying this as of now.
This is what I've got so far
3 e-tanks,
70 missles,
10 supers,
15 powerbombs,
1 reserve tank,
Morph ball,
Boost/spring ball,
Gravity suit (no Varia),
Morph ball bombs,
Plasma Beam
The bosses I defeated are (in this order)
Bomb Torizo,
Spore Spawn,
Phantoon,
Draygon (yes, I am serious),
Bowtown
There were a few other things I have to say:
I like the graphics; in Deep Ice, some of the backgrounds use tiles from Yoshi's Island and I like that kind of thing, I also like those little Kirbys in the room that the Etcoons smash into :^_^:.
I got Permastuck once but I had a savestate shortly before then.
Overall a very good game so far, non linear and fairly easy unless you stray off the path, the exact oppsite of many hacks that abuse short charge, Green gate glitches and (or) Speedball/Mockball. Some of these hacks abuse extremely hard enemies/bosses (Limit's Ridley was so hard that I had to hack in a weakness to screw attack just to beat it!). Like I said, this hack is the exact oppsite of the pro-hacks, and its nice to see a hack thats not extremely hard.

So far this looks like another great hack.

I found something which is likely ... well, not a bug, just something overlooked.

In the case pictures and txt description, you call the planet Nerion III, but in the game, after you select Samus and it shows the overall map, it still calls it Planet Zebes, and labels the individual areas as Crateria, etc. This should be fairly easy to change. :)

Orel

I've been playing this some more this morning, here's some more findings.
First time i tried to exit this room, the camera got all buggy and glitchy and i had to reset the game to fix it, i tried to get this glitch to repeat itself but i was unable to.

Item marker dot here should be one to the right.

Item marker dot here should be up one. (please ignore the fact that i used the glitch and cheated to get this missile pack a second time.)

It's impossible to fill in this map square on the mini map.

This has probably been said several times before, but the mini map in this room is extremely glitchy, i'm guessing this is probably due to the overlapping rooms and i'm not sure how easy it would be to fix.
Lunaria

Note on the last one: I know about this glitch, the issue is that I have to move the whole map (with text log and all) two squares to the right as well as map every room to the new location to fix it. :/

Orel

Well, if it's too much work to fix, don't bother with it, it's not really that big of a deal.

Tyjet66

I asked this a few days ago and never got a reply. What is the max? 250/50/50 or 230/50/50?
I'm at 230/45/45

Lunaria

250/50/50

I recall I already stated this several times. :o

Orel

I'm just about at the end of my run, i'm at 240/50/50 and i'm missing one E tank and screw attack, all i have left to do is go finish the game now.

I found a few more bugs.
Collision error here.

and here.

This one here is pretty cool.

I managed to fall in the water right here and the camera didn't follow me.
Here's what happens when i walk to the left.

This glitch corrects itself by just walking around so it's not really game breaking or anything.
I'm getting to the point where in order to find more bugs i would have to actively look for them, i'm not sure crys wants me to post about 50-100 or so more tile errors, but i'm offering to locate them on my next run since i seem to now know how to spot them just by looking at them. (usually when slopes are used in small corridors which happens a lot in this hack.)

I have a few questions for those of you that know better than me.
How do you get down here?

Whats with this chozo statue? It's very existence here confused me. =/

Whats with this door, is it just for decoration?
Questions:

1.
You need to do a kick arse speed booster move! :D
in the latest trailer (first post of this topic) I show off the move, good luck!
2. It's there for shit and giggles.

3. It's there for shit and giggles and as a reference to the old meme about sexy red doors. :p

1. Yes it might not have been very professional of me to call people morons just now.

2. The door worked fine and you proved it as you managed to enter the area just fine, not my fault: A: You missed the door. B: Did fail several times at reading my posts where I did explain it.

3. SMILE saying it is a PAL ROM does not mean the ROM have to be PAL. If you read the files coming with smile you would know this.

I believe the PAL issue is because I thought I read somewhere that Crys didn't expand the ROM by a full bank at the end. If that's the case, then I think SMILE assumes it's PAL.

.....Anyways, back on track, I finished your hack. It, is definitely one of very few that I enjoyed throughout (minus the one spot I got stuck in.) I enjoyed the openended-ness of the hack itself and feeling like a recreation; something new; and not just a hack. It felt like a new adventure and actually took my time exploring it rather than screaming "fffffffff**************" because I couldnt find my way. You left those subtle hints and you could trek in any direction, regardless of your current equipment and die if you werent prepared. The layout, was a little repetitive in places (mainly Deep Ice and the Sewers) with the blocky-squared look of platforms and outcroppings. But the layout structure itself more than made up for that. I enjoyed searching for items just to get me by and finish the game....and speaking of that:

10 Energy Tanks
3 Reserve Tanks
175+ Missiles
30+ Supers
20+ Power Bombs
Missed Ice Beam, Gravity Suit, Space Jump, Screw Attack, and something else haha.

My items rate was something like 56.8% using Hard-saves, with a time of 4:18.

Thank you, Crys, for this amazing piece of work. It is blatantly obvious that you spent a lot of time trying to perfect this hack. I, myself, am going to go bug and item searching for 100%, and any glitches I encounter while doing so. Again, thank you for this.

Orel

Welp, scratch screw attack off my list.
i managed to get it using a different trick than the one used in that trailer, all i did was start running and right as i hit the pit of speed booster blocks i hit down and i just sort of fell down while in speed booster mode. I really have no idea how to do the trick shown in the trailer, is that some weird TAS stuff?
Anyways, i finished up my run and got 4:01 and i'm only missing 3 items now. (2 missile packs and 1 e tank.)

Here are the last bugs i found.
Was posted by another guy already, if you touch these spikes, the game crashes.

On my second attempt at fighting GT, the game randomly crashed again, i didn't even touch the spikes this time, it happened while i was hiding in the pit spamming plasma combo.
Daltone

Achieved 100%

The last pack i needed ironically had a evil kirby guarding it.
Also question:
Whats the deal with the super cool golden area above steamfair? Having a speed booster puzzle lead to nothing was mean.
Thanks for sharing Crys!

Spider2745

Orel

I was looking around for the last few items and i found a couple more glitches. (didn't find anymore items though. =/ )
The fire in this room seems to be coming from the wrong spot and it looks kind of glitchy. (sorry it's hard to tell what i mean from the screenshot i took.)

I seem to have accidentally found a glitch in the super metroid engine where if you have your back to a wall and lightly tap the grapple button and hit a grapple block, you will clip through the wall behind you. This probably leads to a million different perma stucks in this hack. (how are you supposed to get to these doors anyways?)

You probably shouldn't bother fixing these since it would be a LOT of work finding all of the places where this can be done and fixing them.  And hey, the glitch is in vanilla Super Metroid too. (in very few places though.)
Hiroshi Mishima

Okay, I think I can safely say that Crys will most likely NOT be fixing the little things where you stand up in a tunnel that has a sloped ceiling. I'm pretty sure that's an engine issue and not something important. I mean, if it's in the original game and Nintendo didn't fix it, I'm fairly certain most ROMhackers won't be touching it either.

But I WILL congratulate Daltone on getting 100% :D And you for getting so close.
Judging from this, and what DMan said, I'm guessing Screw Attack is down there then?  Odds are that I'll never be able to pull that off.  LOL  And alot of other people as well, which IMO is kinda good, as I've always seen Screw Attack as kind of game breaking making killing enemies too easy.

Actually, it's not as hard to get as you might think, i was able to get it without using any tool assistance.
Basically, all you need to do is this, from the right of the pit start running and get up to full speed, then right as you hit the speed booster block pit, hit down, if you time it right you should fall through the pit in speed booster mode.
Anyways, i don't think i'll be getting 100% items this time around, i don't really have the patience to find the last 3 items, perhaps on my next run i might just happen to stumble upon the 3 items i've missed these last 2 runs and then i'll get 100%.

VideoGeemer

Most of the geometric issues don't seem like a big deal to me. You get the morph ball so early in the game, and that lets you avoid getting stuck in most of the screens I've seen.

This might be interesting, though. This cacatac is walking into the ground, and can hit me while I cannot hit it. :)

Many enemies don't recognize slopes. You'll notice most enemies in SM had a very small set path to go back and forth in. In hacks, you get geemer's flying through slopes and such and such.

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but I'm stuck in lower Surface, in the area where you come out after croc. It's underwater, so I can't make the jump back up the shaft, can't wall jump up, and I haven't beaten croc, so his door is locked :/

Okays, I got out, but I abused that snail so damn much :O I had to get him over to the left side of the room, and jump on him continually whie he climbed up the wall.

Lunaria

Version 1.24 is out.

Release notes:

Fixing freeze at final boss.

Applied item % fix. (You need to restart from the beginning to get it to work)

And a few other small fixes such as a perma stuck.

I have started posting my blind LP on Youtube, it probably wont be fully uploaded for another day or to. Here is video #1, for the rest, visit my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/tyjet66

Eh, I enjoy being to Screw Attack my way through everything. It means I don't have to worry quite so much about firing when I'm going back and forth trying to find something. It seriously helps cut down on some of the frustration in trying to locate that last Missile Pack or two.

Anyways, I'd put up MY LP, but unfortunately I'm having trouble getting it to save in a better format. I don't wanna post up a freaking 1.6 GB size video. >_>; I don't know WHY that one is so big when none of the others are. I blame my cousin's computer for being crap, and for running Vista. Doubtless Vista isn't really to blame, but it makes me feel better.
