Great box art ^^ How much time did you spend working on this ? Just curious.

I am very excited to play this --- thinking of streaming this sometime this week.

OmegaDragnet9

Just booted this up 30 minutes ago. The sheer amount of custom-drawn pixel art is incredible. Really digging the custom music too.

sanctumsys

just finished this and it's incredible. so much custom art and the gameplay feels perfect (i particularly enjoyed the secrets). it really feels like a whole new game, well done yoshi. going to bug all my friends until they play this now

Well this is an awesome surprise on a Tuesday!

Edit:  Started playing tonight.  The aesthetics are amazing.  I'm early on but so far it's living up to the hype.

germanmetroid

Recently finished this hack at 100%, it's really amazing how it separates itself from other SM hacks

!! Review with spoilers !!
Amazing pixel art
Amazing level design
Power ups that really make sense in-world and have their purpose well defined, loved the entire arsenal have their own upgrade that gives them their own punch, and the final upgrade when getting them all
being infinite Charge Beams
The storytelling and how it portrays Junko's dreamscape is nothing short of awesome and creepy. Hell, the main bosses representing her in a rotten and interesting way is unique to themselves and challenges the usual resprites of other Hacks
If I wasn't reminded that this is still a SM Hack, it could easily pass as it's own game.

Also the finale with here flying with the Spark Swimsuit makes me jiggle lmao
This is a 10/10 Hack for me, would play it again, looking forward for more!

I started working on it a few months after Junkoid, so around April of last year.

Great box art ^^

Thanks! Here's the Super Famicom version.

...and a more accurate NA localized box art.

Version 1.1 is on the original post

*The random freeze when going into the super tube should be fixed
*Fixed some softlocks related to moonfalling and underwater speed

Onnyks

It's very fun, great level design with top notch effects and tiling, and all of the custom sprites are so well executed. Bravo. Just stopping in to report a freeze after trying to continue. I died to
the blood timer trying to rush around in the blood area suitless (I assume there's a suit at least but I haven't found one). Anyway it was in Botwoon's room and I might have killed him but I spent too long submerged so I died anyway.
Playing version 1.1 on Snes9x

Steel Sparkle

This was a fun rom hack. Had a good time. Great Job :)

DonnyDonovan

Question for Onnyks:
blood timer?  I've been wandering that area suitless for awhile and haven't noticed any timer.  Am I missing something?
RT-55J

Response to Donny:
Until you get a certain upgrade, there's an oxygen mechanic for when you are underwater (or rather, underblood). It is indicated by seemingly random "hurt" noises, which increase in frequency until either you die or you resurface for air.
DonnyDonovan

Thank you I did notice that which you reference (and kind of wondered if it meant anything) but obviously didn't get all the way there, at least yet.

Tower

i grabbed the thingy that should regen my magic in saunas but it stoped working. SAD

Beat it in 3:40 with 98%.  Might need to go back and find the one or two items I missed, which must be unmarked.  This hack is in the top-tier for sure.  Combat is generally quite easy but the exploration, atmosphere, music, graphics, it's all top-notch.  Play it if you haven't yet.  Definitely hack of the year for 2023 so far.

Edit:  I was missing one item which I have since found.  It was marked.  Final totals for anyone curious:
600 energy, 75 "missiles", 50 baseballs, 25 sparks, I think it was 4 frogs
altoiddealer

Reporting a softlock (didn't try 1.1 yet but you didn't mention this one specifically)
After defeating Spore Spawn I went down into the drained pit, but got stuck at the bottom where the bird teaches you shinesparking.  I got stuck because I only have Rat Charge which doesn't allow chaged shinesparking.
Amazing hack so far though!  I'm blown away!

One more thing:
I acquired plasma beam before fighting Crocomire, so apparently that hits him even when his mouth is shut.
You get the Sparksuit in the room adjacent to the creature who teaches it to you.

UDtheAesir

Beat it in 6 hours and 98.6% items. I love what's been done, gives it a nice dark feel. Very interesting stuff, this Junko character seems familiar to me for some reason, maybe from an anime? Great hack!

I got an item that says my spark speed was increased by +5.

However, she doesn't ever get speed effect... just normal run still.

the item you picked up should've added something to your HUD. if it did, select that. you misread the item description and misunderstood its use.

altoiddealer

I tried desperately not to make a post that makes a fool of myself - I only came when I had absolute certainty that it was a softlock.

Now I'm wondering how in the heck I missed that new item in the HUD  :O_o:

RT-55J

to be fair, you are not the first person to be tripped up by that HUD item. i ain't gonna name names in public, but a couple very prominent hackers also got confused by it
