Any ideas as to what hacks I should play as I start? I'm very experienced at high-level SM tech, and speedrunning maneuvers. So I'm not opposed to hard/kaizo hacks being recommended as well. Thanks! :D

Hi, and welcome!  Setting your skill level with the mechanics aside, I have a couple of recommendations to get your feet wet without overdoing the exploration difficulty.

Stardust was my favorite "starter" hack back when I was getting started; it's a relatively quick one but still has 100 pickups, and shows off a lot of the visual cues that are popular among creators for exploration and expansions.  But it's also from 2009 and showing its age - hacks have come a long way since then.  Nature has a more modern look and feel and is still great for first-timers, as it follows the general timing and critical path from Vanilla SM but on a new map, with some nice visual upgrades.

In general, some of the more popular hacks like Ascent and VITALITY should be broadly accessible regardless of your hack experience, and certainly within reach of your skill level.  Have fun!
