Had the pleasure of playing this early, and it's incredible. Easily hack of the year, and might be the best of all time.
Huge achievement DMan. You're only letting yourself down if you don't play this.
Also, this was posted on Discord:
If you intend to play VITALITY, please refrain from watching others stream it until you've played it first

If you are streaming VITALITY, please warn potential players of content spoilers in your playthrough

Please adjust your brightness to factory settings and make sure to disable emulator filters
that may darken, obscure or blur the visibility of VITALITY, adjustment is complete once you
can see the space pirates on the titlescreen
-If using higan, go to settings and uncheck Colors in the Video Emulation submenu
-If using bsnes, uncheck 'Simulate NTSC TV gamma ramp' in Configuration Settings

If you are under the age of 17, discretion is advised

Don't post spoilers here. Be considerate of others.
This is a warning. I'll be watching.

Praise Manaka.

I will probably give it a couple more attemps just to look what else is in this hack...after I slept and got over this.

10/10 would recommend to play, be wary of possible difficulties.

Hi there, I feel like I'm getting stuck a lot. Especially after morph ball and bomb upgrades. Got any tips for me without getting into spoilers?

Just a little advice for people who are playing VITALITY on their PC via emulator, don't play it on ZSNES...at all. The hack's too hot for ZSNES to handle. If anyone has Twitter, then #ZSNESIsTrash Should be trending.

With that said, now back to our regularly scheduled topic.

I'm gonna download ZSNES to use exclusively on this hack then rate based on my experience there

DonnyDonovan

I am playing on ZSNES and have experienced no problems whatsoever thus far.  What kind of difficulties am I looking at?

Sapphron

ZSNES is shit, switch to 9x.

It's also incredibly inaccurate and should only be used if you have a computer from the 90s.

hack idea: a hack that, when played in zsnes, gives your computer coronavirus

I don't know what to say. This hack has far exceeded my expectations. It's currently number 1 on my list on best SM hack ever.

Thanks for playing, glad it exceeded your expectations!

4:35, 73.5%. an Absolute masterpiece, with a superb atmosphere and creative use of original assets. Once again, Digital Mantra shows what the vanilla tilesets are capable of.
A Rom-hack that manages to take the original inspiration for Super Metroid and go even beyond, truly next-level. Every room a painting, is what it is, with a mysterious and haunting storyline to boot.
I wonder if there's more than one ending? MUST. REPLAY. GAME
Truly speechless. 10/10.
PS:Now I see why you released this in October
DonnyDonovan

Incredibly atmospheric and immersing, easily in the top-tier of exploration based hacks.  Perfect execution of "everytime you think you might be stuck, you're not."  I will play again as I am certain I could improve my route a great deal and eliminate a LOT of running around.  Not hard at all from a combat or tough moves required standpoint, if anyone is wondering.  Visually stunning.  Top notch stuff right here.

Anna

it was the amazing hack I've ever played   :yay:

Digital_Mantra

Thanks for the kind words, yeah I was dead set on October

Can't say that this hack was most enjoyable gameplay-wise (some jumps early game required for me sometimes 20-30 minutes) but story-wise and visual-wise... BEST. HACK. EVER.
8:34, 80.4%, 4 deaths.

Atmosphere - 98/100, can't put 100 because of early jumps.
Gameplay - 90/100, i must admit that i love fast collection of items as well as usage of top left part of hud.
Visuals - 100/100, i am sorry that can't give higher score for this masterpiece.

Must be played by everyone who loves Super Metroid.
Post-Ridley ending zone was most SPOOKY as well as last boss.
Thank you, Digital Mantra!

I'm in the same boat... can't figure out where to go next after bombs.

Is IBJ required?
I IBJ'd to Technowhatever (no other way to jump to the ledge?), and dead-ended in a room with Supers which did not seem to be obtainable.
advancedpillow

IBJ is not required.
After bombs is Charge
DonnyDonovan

I don't think a single advanced move is required to beat this.  I know good single-wall walljump skills came in handy, I'm sure I double bomb jumped, maybe diagonally bomb jumped, mid-air morph, short (not super short) charge, stuff like that, but nothing I'd call "advanced" to any frequent player.  This is not a challenge hack.

advancedpillow

Yeah. You can even beat the game without walljumping once. The only move people may consider advanced that is required is midair morph. But that's something we should all be able to do.

piush

I started this hack today. I decided to play this using only save stations and no savestates. I also will not be looking at spoilers or playthroughs.  Been doing exploration and have found a few items. I am happy you did not change the physics. I love doing ibj . So far I have
morph ball , bombs , missiles and just got the charge beam
, Been fun so far.
After bombs is Charge
I'm slightly ashamed to say I simply cannot seem to progress.  I've found a few very well hidden missile expansions, but that's it. I passed 2 hours and meticulously checked all the rooms many times over.
What feels like the intended route, with the 2 checks for Bombs upgrade, quickly dead ends at a ledge that can only be reached with IBJ.  There's also that room with the enemies only vulnerable to bombs, which you're taight to kill in the bombs room... explored every nook and cranny only to find a missile expansion, a cool looking chozo, and doors remain locked. If someone could please point me in the right direction I would love to continue this game!

Did you find a room with mocktroids in Tchornobog? That would be where you want to be looking.
As for the ibj you think you needed to do, I hope it wasn't this: https://i.imgur.com/XtzPYL3.png
Aloha! Love your game, very exploration-heavy as the others have noted.
Finally got Gravity Suit and at 87.3%. Is there any more underwater content? I mean, there has to be with 13% left to find.
Thanks for such a great game!
Absolutely that!  My perfect jump is falling very short of clearing this... so I thought the physics were slightly off, intentionally, but rather there must be something wrong with my controller setup.  For instance I can't mockball either, I'm losing run momentum when I jump

It's been awhile since I played anything but PC games, but never had this problem... DS4Windows has updated a few times since I last used controller.  Will investigate and report back, thank you!!
I have this feeling that I'm going to find my Run and Cancel buttons as being flip flopped.  If so, idk how the hell I didn't deduce this sooner

Edit 2 - Uh huh, seems I am suddenly now enjoying the physics of this game a zillion times better.
