93.3%. What am I missing?
benox50

For that missing zone1 item, it has already been answered in that forum thread

Alright, I found that item, and now I'm at 96.6%. Am I missing anything else? Is there an item in the bomb timer area before getting to Zone 2 or something?

Edit: Found it! It was in the 'Morph Bait' room.

M1CR0H4CK3R

Found a permastuck - in the 'Top Access Slow' room in zone 2, if you let a HAND grab you and pull you through the wall, then kill all the HANDs, you'll be stuck there permanently, and be forced to resume from a save station.

benox50

ah yea, that one is fixed for next ver. 1.12

M1CR0H4CK3R

Done! This was a great hack, and I had a lot of fun with it. Can't wait for v1.2. I would definitely play this again sometime. 9.6/10.

Had an issue with one of the new features (spoiler):
How are you supposed to fix gravity after getting the first(?) super missile tank? I barely escaped the toxic air room and wandered halfway across the zone until I found a save room, and it was fixed when I reloaded the save file. Somehow that doesn't seem like it was intended.
Also, if you go back down through Into The Vents, the music stops playing in the next room. It restarts once you go down or back up.

neat

All you have to do is
press up to unmorph and return to normal gravity
MetroidX

lol that Ascent poster reminds of the shoryuken. I haven't played this game yet so I hope that Samus did learn/master the SRK! that would be sweet! like MMX2, a super secret weapon.

Huh. It looks like
lightly tapping up sometimes doesn't work, so I never thought to try holding it longer.
benox50
Just spam it a bit, 2 or 3 times, its because the way collision work since samus will unmorph into solid blocks,
I saw people bombing and then unmorph too.
I also edited that part so there is red cancel grav buttons there, I guess you waited until the water is drained because normally you cannot get out of the super spot in reverse grav
A few minor bugs I noticed, mostly map-related (includes spoilers):
The final boss icon is X'd out after beating the second-to-last boss.

The room to the surface elevator doesn't match the map, you can't reach the bottom-right square.

This is marked as a Linked Door but should be a Link Unlock.

The zone 2 map station has an item dot (unlike the others), although it's only visible on the mini-map.

Missile refill in the wrong square in early zone 2 (shown fixed)

Missing doors in zone 1 (shown fixed)

Missing doors and floor in zone 2 (shown fixed)

Missing door and floor in zone 3 (shown fixed)

Duplicate name in the credits

This elevator shows a gap in the floor on the pause map. Strangely, it doesn't appear on the mini-map.

When you load the game from this save room, the preview map starts out too high and shows the bottom row. Might not be worth the trouble to fix. The preview map also uses a different palette for the yellow rooms, but I think the vanilla game had some palette issues there too.
Also, a couple questions:
Is there a way to open the top-right door in the 3rd warp zone?

Does this pattern mean anything?
benox50

Thanks, working on an update for more obscure fixes

For the questions:
That pattern is a specific easter egg from a book "la nuit des temps" its the zoran equation.
and for the door, this is an exit for cut content
Kapow

One more thing I just noticed:
This map square in zone 2 never gets filled in.
Everything was great with the game. I got 85% and got all the major upgrades w/ no help. Pretty interesting take on the SM world.
However, why on earth can't we go back to the previous areas? I left zone 2 in a hurry to get to zone 3, figuring I can get the 100% once i get all the major upgrades. But then after I was ready to head back to zone 2 or 1 from 3, I spent hrs combing through a way but nothing. Even the warping section, where i stumbled a ver1.2 out of bounds section is where i thought would be a junction to all the zones. but NO! WTF man? i would have rated the game 8/10 but now because of this simple overlook or whatever the designer was going for, i am going to give it 3/10.

altoiddealer

Finished this (v1.0) the other day with about 86% completion, and about 11 hours (don't remember the specifics)

Loved it!  Absolutely amazing.  Looking forward to replaying this!
-I agree that the inability to backtrack to the completed zones is disappointing, but personally I wasn't gung-ho about getting a perfect 100%
-It seemed like in the early game that the "hold down while jumping to get a wee bit higher" technique was required to progress (?)   I may be wrong.  That seems like something that could stump some relatively new players.
-In the large puzzle room with the sliding spikes and the enemies that walk toward you, I have no idea what the intended strat was for crossing the bridge but I managed to get through with a shine morphball.
-The final final boss seemed incredibly difficult to predict movement and react appropriately.  I went in with almost full health, and having missed only 1 E-Tank, spamming charged full combo beams and barely survived on reserve tanks.

I think I may have found a possible permastuck. If you fall into the pit, down into the room where you get Wave Beam, if you don't have any power bombs, you will be stuck there. Is that correct? As far as I can tell, using a power bomb is the ONLY way to escape.

Edit: I'm wrong. Use the Wave Beam. Duh. Leaving this up in case someone else has issues with this little puzzle.

Edit 2: Finished. About 6:30 hours and 79.8%. This is one of the best SM romhacks ever made. GREAT JOB!! I loved the use and choices of custom music, even for old favorites — it makes the game feel like a true sequel. I loved the concept of the Zones. And I am extremely impressed with all the asm work, the graphics work with the lighting techniques in nearly every room, all the puzzles, the world layout, the enemies (new takes on oldies and brand new ones), the room names/hints, and ESPECIALLY the power-ups and the order you obtain them. Thank you for that!

I found almost all of the bosses to be a joke though. Either I was super powerful or they need their health doubled. I love each of them though, how Samus was to approach each. Gold Torizo comes to mind — but when I began to actually fight it, it died in like 12 seconds. I went in blind so the timers really shocked me at first. Crocomire in particular was very challenging for me but it was the just right kind of challenge; he was always too easy but you made it very tricky — and amazing!

If you're struggling with THE FINAL BOSS, it is easy once you know how — constantly use Space Jump as you chase it, unspinning to shoot it with Super Missiles as you predict the angle, and then restarting the space jump as you chase it again.

QUESTION: I never came across the big baby metroid. Was it removed for patch 1.12? Or does it disappear if you collect certain items? .........Ok, I just went back to my last save file and revisted the room. It was there! But I had already went into this room and it didn't appear for me when I did so then. Does it only appear after you unlock a certain gate or something? No sure if this was meant to happen. Also, I killed the damn thing before it even attack me once; this led to only the shell of the metroid it was eating to stay hovering. I jumped into it, the empty shell (like the top part of the metroid) and it began to attack me like a normal metroid would.

Overall: 10/10. Amazing work! Thanks for making it!

-- I dont understand the issue with the final boss.. It was by far the easiest boss in any Metroid game. I mean is it because i had the space jump/screw attack, and many didnt? Cause with those two, you can get free life refill from those rinka's. No way you can die if you are constantly getting life healths, and missile refills. At this point you just have to worry about killing off the boss soon before it gets to long of a battle.

-- Same thing here, had to come into the room a second time, and there it was. But for me, it actually hatched on to me before I could have killed it. But once it was off, it just hovers above waiting to get killed. Weird and dumb imo.

Overall: 10/10. Amazing work! Thanks for making it!
--The fact that one can't get back to previous areas/levels is this game's biggest downfall. For that i rate it 3/10. Truth!

question:
Went to Zone 2 as early as possible, is it possible to backtrack to Zone1 to get missing items? If not, maybe the hack should warn this in-game?
The message right above yours literally answers that question.

The readme says:

"The no return rule can be broken in zone 2 for a surprise so keep your eyes peel".
But I guess this only applies to that small Zone1 area, is that right?
benox50
Yes, this is mostly to show what happens to the places after they explode and to exterminate all the parasites infused enemies, so you go back to zone1 to be sure a thing is actually destroyed. There was a point in development where you could go back anywhere but then I decided for a more linear structure and also not needing to do a second makeover of all the zones after the big boom.

Also the bosses are easy when you get many damage tanks, they are pretty hard on low% and can last really long. Im thinking of making them damage you more in the future but their hp must not be too big
messiaen

Thanks benox, your hack is really awesome and very balanced! Suggestion:
Make it VERY clear ingame that you won't be able to go back, this is unique, unexpected in the Metroid world, and the readme is a bit ambiguous.
This. F' the spoilers man. If I had known this before I played the game,  (and no the readme doesn't count) I would have put more time in the lower levels. So I think all newbies should know this ahead of time so they can enjoy the game on their first experience.

benox50
Its in the legend ingame + yellow map and a room name. ofc the readme and description
but I agree, should add another one more in your face in the future
