Thanks for those awesome comments :D new and good looking stuff will be on the next update!

I'm planning to expand wrecked ship and add some ASM stuff and a nice surprise!

Looking forward to it. BTW did you have to expand the ROM to add more stuff into AC?

Yes, i added a few more banks so i can place extra data as new music and new tilesets, and I'll keep expanding it even more so i keep adding many extra stuff as new areas and extra rooms, this is a big project!  :^_^:

Hello all!  I've been checking out this amazing rom hack and I am loving it so far.  I had a question.  Is this rom hack able to be patched for MSU-1 soundtracks?

albert v.

Yeah, i will make a MSU version at some point, but it's still far from that, cause I'm gonna add so many new stuff first and once I'm done with the final version I'll make an MSU version with the nicest music as possible, since still a few more updates to do, that'll take a quite time for that, there's much interesting stuff in mind and I'll be doing my best to bring future updates soon.

siatienco

Sounds awesome, I cant wait.  I was reading in the v1.1.5 notes that you have added some music to the rom, what area is it in?  I mean, I'm sure I'll notice as I play through, I was just curious, lol.

How do I apply the original bomb jump ips ?.

albert v.

Just use the patch that says "Original bomb jumping" I'm not sure if in this last pack I've included that patch, but in case you don't find it here, you can still going to the alternative download, at ROM hacking website, i remember i had a few problems uploading the whole pack in this site, cuz some size limitations for the attachments :/

syrick

I've been really enjoying this hack, but I think I've soft locked myself and I was hoping to get some help.

I did almost all of Maridia before getting the Gravity Suit, Grapple Beam, or even touching the Wrecked Ship, tried to kill Draygon but just couldn't survive long enough to get through. So I left the normal means and went around collected some extras and was making my back but I can't seem to work out how to get back to the boss. I can't get through the walls that you use the Metroid to break because it doesn't spawn in that room. The "vanilla" exit, and the spike tunnel both are blocked with grey doors that I can't open. Am I screwed?

advancedpillow

Top-left of the room, use a power bomb. That should do it, if I understand you correctly.

syrick

Ohh right okay, I thought I did do that. Didn't realise the Metroid was behind the closed door. Thanks!

Quick question: What version of Super Metroid is needed for this hack?  Attempts to use "Super Metroid (JU)" fail to work.

EDIT: Nvm, figured out the issue.

nateious

Quick question. Is there a way to restore the item fanfare sounds? While they played in 1.1.0, 1.1.5 doesn't seem to have them.

Thanks for any info.

made a map of the game.
now completed and fixed.

Now if only Ancient Chozo had @Quote58's code from Project Base 0.8 injected into the hack.

albert v.

Thank for the contribution of  making that map!   The next update will take a while, maybe can be the possibility to add Quote's code, but I am also thinking to start a new project using his code, so might be good to have some away from ancient Chozo, so we'll see later what will come out :) thank to all for the replys, good stuff is on the way!

did I miss anything? I hope not. i checked a speedrun to see if I got all  :bounce:
I think it's fine as it is and a new mod would be cool. if anything changes map wise lease list so I can update the map.
I'm going to play it soon, I'm finishing Legacy and this is next.
NP about the map. Took long enough though xD checking every room as not to miss stuff and making room connections.
Maybe one thing to fix is to make the room below WS two rooms wider and making one of the rooms to the right of it lower so it can fit good with the rest of the map and the one on the left one room over so the elevator isn't diagonal anymore :p

thanks again for this hack can't wait for it next after I've played TOTW

104% completed in 4:13!

Thanks for the awesome looking romhack!

Had fun playing through it. My only beef with it was the control scheme. I wish it was more updated or gave the option to make it more like recent metroid games.

Things that pop into my mind:
-Auto-run options and toggle
-Hold button to use item (rockets and the like), release to go back to beam.
-An option to make it so save stations also fill up health and all amo.
-Give an option to put item fanfare back, but you can skip it ingame if you want.

Much what I'm stating here was implemented in romhack Super Metroid Redux.

It would be great to see similair updated controls/mechanics in this romhack.

But anyway nice job and I hope on future updates!

MultiKoopa

This looks fun. This might be a dumb question, but is there any way this could be combined with the Redux patch?

Super Metroid Redux is awesome, and those features you mentioned above should be a standard for Metroid rom hacks

Hey guys, this expansion has meant the world to me. I've so much to say but not a lot of time to post atm, but will return, but I wanted to say thank you. For this, for what I experienced finishing it recently.  Thanks so much. <3

I made this btw, I hope it's okay.It's a remix/recut of the Space Pirates/Kraid's Lair theme.
I wanted to make a full track of it, and changed the arrangement with an ending. <3

Don't do this much these days and rare for me to share with the original creator so I hope it's alright. c:

albert v.

Thank you for those positive comments, I'm glad that the changes made were such a good choice, a lot more is coming, so don't think this has ended, cool stuff is on the way!

I'm attempting suitless RBO and have made it to Lower Norfair. The chozo statue to the left of the elevator won't activate. How do I get it to do so so that it lowers the acid?

Paragon

If the statue's coding hasn't been altered, it might mean you need space jump. Iirc, that's the requirement for getting it to activate in the vanilla game.
