Problems with HxD

So i decided to start hacking SM for the first time and I come across a brick wall on my way.

When I open HxD and open the .smc file i go to search > Goto... and i type 791F8 on offset and with hex, and begin selected, Then I click OK it brings this message up "The file doesn't contain the offset 791F8"

I have no idea on how to fix this! so if you can help me, please reply.  :grin:

Make sure you have definitely opened up the .smc file as right next to it will likely be a .smc.bin file. Otherwise I don't know what to tell you, never had this happen before.

Sigh... I just figured it out ITS NOT THE .SMC FILE YOU OPEN! I am a moron
