Lost World

Hi guys, I'm back again with a new SM hack ready to finish...

The Story : At the end of the known galactic systems, lies an abandoned planet for the civilization that was there, now is extinct...  Called "Lost World", this planet is still wild and nature has grown free from dominate species, pollution or whatever could modified it...

But, watch satellites have detected "Hunters" spaceships movements around the area of XELIA, it's veritable name. Some "hunters" are supposed to capture creatures to sell them. Maybe some trapped species are used to be slaves or forced to serve in galactic circus.

The high galactic federation called the famous detective Samus Aran to investigate on planet XELIA for stopping the traffic immediately!

Our heroine is brought in a new adventure full of danger : a whole new planet to explore filled with hostile and wild creatures where "hunters" are ready for all to continue their rentable traffic!

The Hack :  like in "hydellius", I create a new planet with new graphics, backgrounds, areas, enemies...

new map with huge areas and giant rooms full of enemies and danger!!

you must know walljump and mid-air morph but not a hard game.... I think it's easier than "hydellius" but i warn you : it's a long hack!!!

So let me get this straight..

You posted a zip file with images that you couldve just posted in some spoilers instead?

I downloaded it hoping for the hack, not some bmp images. Perhaps you should take it off and post the images in spoilers so people dont need to download that and get disappointed or something?

Images can be placed in a post by using the IMG tags ([IMG] and [ /IMG]) and placing a direct link to your pictures between the tags. Please do so, as it is against the rules to start a hack thread without having at least 2 images in the first post, and we will have to close the thread soon.

OK I don't understand, i do what you said but the images does not appear..... the link redirect to  BMP pictures....that's wrong ?

They aren't direct links, they instead link to a Dropbox page. You need to get the link of the picture, not the page it's on.

Make sure they are PNG format as BMP are way larger and take up more bandwidth, making the forum a bit laggy to people who don't have great internet.

Though I was disappointed to find out that it was only screenshots, I was pleasantly surprised to see some really unique and rad custom gfx  :^_^:

To help out, I have below what I do to show images with a different type of dropbox

to get it to work, replace the parenthesis with their proper brackets ( so ( to this [ ), replace www with dl, and add on usercontent after dropbox so you'll get:

but I recommend enlarging it to like 10" to make:

Hey Trom, you can use this document for game over. I think Squishy or somebody else gave it to me a long time ago.

Using dropbox for images usually doesn't work very well (I don't see any of your posted screenshots).  You should try and use photobucket or something equivalent.

Hi guys..... I post the first version of my hack at the top of this topic... cool for Christmas.... Hope have fun!

Started playing this, found a few things that could be improved. This first place shows the gun clipping through blocks. Only a visual bug.

This second one lets me clip in the wall at this place. Not stuck, but annoying.

This last one is a perma stuck. Can't jump out of it and crouching pushes me in the ground where I can't get out for lack of bombs at this point.

Apart from that perma, it's not bad. I don't really like underwater without gravity, but it's not hard so far. I hate that spikes do so much damage, makes me not want to explore as much. Also, the quicksand room from the second screenshot is almost impossible to escape without some funky walljumps. Might want to rework that room a bit!

for the quicksand, you can easily get off  with the enemy "hand" above.... just let him pick you up!

for the permastuck, I'll check this but not sure you REALLY stuck....

note : I do not modify for one , one and another one.... you like it or you dislike....OK

[spoiler]Hay TROM. Really liking this so far. Got charge beam,bombs,High Jump boots,Morph ball with 1 energy tank and reserve. Seeing how slow my energy drains am i supposed to do a cold run through the mountains? NVM i found the Blast Beam[Spazer] so i assume that was the correct path.[/spoiler]

I recall you being upset when HYDELLIUS wasn't radically popular.
Videogames are a pretty highly polished medium: these details you deem trivial do not go unnoticed, and a lot of casual players will thereby marginalize your work.
