Try deleting the 2 configuration files under file folder and then open the program again.

It seems a quick reinstall was sufficient. I think the updater is what caused the issue. Might want to look into that.

I think what caused it was because the palette_entries.txt needed to be updated to the new format in the custom folder. Just had this problem and fixed it doing this.

Hi everyone!

I've just fixed an issue when using QuickMet into a room with a PLM in the very top left of the room, which crashed the game.
This bug is actually present in the original game, and happens because the door routine that creates the closing door bubble in the next room checks the location of the bubble for a PLM (and creates one if there's not one there), then sets the closing door instructions to that PLM. The problem arises because any PLM that is not a door PLM cannot run these door closing instructions, hence the crash.

Quickmet crashes because the pseudo door created by Quickmet has a bubble set at 00,00 (the first tile in the room).

A fix for Quickmet can be downloaded here. Download it and copy it into the "/Files/TestRoom/" folder.
This fix can also be used for other versions of SMILE.

Care to explain how the new palette entries work??

Anyone know how to fix Run-time error 91?
"Object Variable or With block variable not set."
RF works if you quickly load a rom into it, but otherwise 91 crashes it after a few seconds.

Can confirm.  Wasn't having this issue until tonight.

That was a problem I overlooked when I added something to the RF_Settings.ini, it's been fixed now.

In other news, I wrote some new internet functions, instead of piggybacking on Microsofts Internet Control. As a result, RF no longer requires MSINET.OCX to be installed.

Hooray! \o/

And then 3.0.99 came out with a fancy text editor. And when opening the text editor:

Hey, I need a bit of help using DSO's tileset repoint patch in conjunction with RF. I need to edit tileset_entries.txt, but I'm not sure how to edit it correctly

I have read the manual so many times and tried so much stuff i still can not figurer it out.

Quietus

Check the PLM editor section of the Mod Manual, paying particular attention to numbers 2 and 4. Essentially, scroll through the list at 2, select your new choice, click 'Save' at 4.

I will check it out.  :heheh: Thanks for your help

EDIT: Finally!  :bounce: Worked like a charm!  :bounce: Thank you thank you thank you  :colonrightv:

i got a weird bug, i can't open any room on a clean, "out of the box" correct ROM... (came CRC, SHA1 and MD5) but if i put the ROM in SMART and save it, i can now open rooms correctly... problem is SMART corrupts the ROM in a weird way, the MAP tileset is all wrong. (probably does not get pointed to the right place)

the SMILE RF Editor works as intended but not at all with a correct (new) ROM... i googled and looked at all the page's post (with search for corrupted) and no one appears to have this problem...

i am using Windows 7 64 bit...

also to install SMILE RF i had to turn off the AV and Delete the Updater from the zip file before extracting. (would not let me do anything otherwise. using AVG antivirus.) SMART's updater does not appear to be causing that problem. (you probably are using a function that viruses commonly uses... Cheat Engine used to have that problem... i mean a program that stealth it self and hooks to other program and modify data... it has all the behaviors except you control them so... not a virus.)

Hello again :^_^:
I have a new problem. I have been romhacking on a PAL rom. But when i try to patch a NTSC rom it becomes a PAL rom. How do i do to keep it as a NTSC?

MetroidMst

You need to start with an NTSC ROM.

I'm getting a bad checksum error, and resetting the checksum doesn't fix it. Can I have some help?
My edits seem to be working, but I get a bad checksum when trying to use QuickMet.

Did anyone see this?
If it's helpful to anyone, I'm using what I believe is the latest version of SNES9X.
Also, I load in the correct position, just without any of the items I told the game that I should start with.

P.JBoy

Bad checksum is fine, just ignore it. Most tools are going to be causing that

The issue is that, for testing, I wanted to have the Grapple Beam, but QuickMet only started with preset x+y positions, not preset items.
