Anybody play card games like Magic, or Cardfight, or whatever?

Grimlock

I play magic, I have cards as old as 1996.  There where several years I didn't buy cards but I started collecting them again a few years ago. I generally don't play multi color decks.

Here's how my decks are set up
I have one for each color

Black - lots of bury target creature cards, only 1/1 creatures with flying or useful abilities.
White - mostly weak creatures with useful abilities, lots of redirect or prevent damage cards.
Green - Tough creatures, lots of healing cards like stream of life.
Blue - Pretty much sucks, has some redirect target spell, counter spell cards, always loses.
Red - lots of Damage cards like fireball, several creatures that tap and inflict 1 damage to target.

Over all my black deck and green deck are the best, I almost always win with them.  Red is pretty good too but is 50/50 win lose.  White lasts a looooooong time, even against powerful decks, seems to lose in the end though, a slow death.

I have an artifact in my green deck called snake basket, if you sacrifice the card you get one 1/1 creature per x mana spent.  I have another card that will charge/hold one mana per round if remained tapped, add to that a card that places a 1/1 counter on any new creatures and it's game over.

The black deck with all its varieties of bury target creature, plus the flying 1/1s pretty much kills almost any deck.  I tossed a few drain life's in there too.

I use to play YuGiOh for about 2 years but quit when the game started becoming a really money hungry and a "negate/dodge all card effects" kind of game. Always enjoyed the decks that would fill the graveyard and start popping out big creatures because of it (Debris-Plant/Junk Dopple decks, Lavals, etc). Those decks have been pretty much hit to shit recently due to ban lists.

Dabbled in Magic for a few weeks as well. I think the deck I built (with the 2013 starter decks containing 30 cards :heheh:) was a Blue/Black mix. Seemed like there was fair amount of control to be had which turned out to be pretty fun.

And nowadays I find myself playing Hearthstone. I've recently been finding that I enjoy the decks geared more toward mid-range where the flow of the deck stays rather constant through the entire match as opposed to being really good early/late game and not so much the opposite.

I like to think I've got a nice little history with little pieces of cardboard that people value at ridiculously high prices sometimes. :^_^:

Quit Yugioh last year. Game got dull with the emphasis on archetypes over real deck deckbuilding, made worse by the lack of interesting ones. Also got tired of Konami jacking up the power levels of specific decks they want to sell, and a generally annoying playerbase.

Started playing Cardfight around that time. Currently play Dimension Police but will move to Spike Brothers when the next set hits the US.

Picked up Magic during the summer. I play Mono-Red Rush for Standard, and plan on getting one of the new Commander decks soon.

My first card game was Pokemon, pfft hahahaha, pokemon....  its not an awful game, I have the TCG on the gameboy, but....

Started playing yugioh around highschool, but really got into in during my Jurior year ('05) the game was significantly different back then, back before synchros, and xyzs, a time when fusions where the top dogs.  Do people even use fusions anymore?

I dabbled in magic a bit, I liked blues for counters, and greens for massing, the other colors are ok in their own ways.  I really liked those Slivers though, those things were cool.

Other than that, I did play a bit of Hearthstone for a bit, thats a prety fun game.  I mostly just logged on to do challenges though, so I could get into those arena games, randomized decks are cool.  I had a pretty good streak at one time, though I don't recall what it was.

I like card games usually, though, I've never liked the 'I spent more money so I have an advantage' aspect of it.  Online card games where no money is needed to use any card you want are best imo.

I have so many Pokemon trading cards in my dresser. I didn't even know I had that many. Damn I was a card nut once.

Lunaria

I have two magic decks, but I have not kept up with magic for yeeeeaaaaaaars.

I also have an MLP:CCG deck.

Pokemon TCG. (Used to) I never played any of the others though. I play other generic card games. (Although, I don't believe that is what you meant by card games. EI: Poker, Solitaire, Etc.)

I've been playing Magic the Gathering for over 17 years, and I've dabbled in a few others like Magi-Nation, Star Wars, and Versus.  Played YGO once and it pretty effectively convinced me to never touch it again.  I also have played some non-collectible card games like Legendary, Ascension, and Sentinels of the Multiverse.

I've been playing since 1995, though all that stuff is relatively recently acquired (past 2-3 years). I'm also a level 2 judge for the game, which means I can tell you how just about every rules interaction works and know how to run tournaments of up to around 300 players without any problems.

I have also played a little of the Pokemon TCG online, which is totally free, and actually very nicely done.
