I think the point of DMan's thread is to actually post your stories, rather than just ideas.  Nobody expects all of the stories to be fantastic, or for them to all be amazingly written, but take a stab at it anyway!

Think of it as a hub for metroid fan-fics. There's several already on this forum, just making a thread for them.

Kitsune_Phoenix: The Chozo didn't all pretty much die, not even in the franchise canon.
The majority of them ascended through meditation, the ones who stayed either became ghosts, evil, or just died and solidified.
Those ascended are alive, if you can call that state of being alive, it's definitely some form of sentience.

That depends if you choose to accept any canon that may have been published.  I tend to look at most games much more simply.  In Metroid's case, Samus is just a bounty hunter who has to save something from a bunch of pirates led by Mother Brain.  Strangely, the metroids themselves seem less necessary than some of the other elements. :^_^:

As I said, I don't think anybody expects anything amazing from members here.  It's just an opportunity for people to get their ideas out there in story form.  Unless it is completely unreadable, you should have a go.  I may even try and cook something up myself! :^_^:

Are you trying to hold it over people's heads, or are you just leaving it out as trollbait?

Also, for the record, I would speak for the part of us who have stopped checking M2k2 entirely. That's why we have Metroid Construction. I'm sure a few others do check however to get the full range of hacks that people release.
