Are you using the offsets from my guide?  If not that would explain it, but if you are... then thats very strange.

please disregard the important warning, as it was figured out what was causing that error.  When modifying palletes with "I'm a genius" make sure to ONLY have the pallete you are currently changing on screen.  If you have other stuff on screen it might (and probably will) fuck up the coding.

I could explain why this happens but.... eh. If ya want to know though, I'll explain it.

As a matter of fact, yep.

Actually, I just realized that I had only edited bomb Torizo's colors, and not Gold Torizo...    :eyeroll:  (I did a quick test, and I actually can get his palette to change)  Heh, oops...   I guess the only one I can't seem to edit is Ridley's palette.  For whatever reason, nothing I change actually shows up for that one.

And about leveling... Many have played DMantra's hacks. They're far off the best tile / room edits! You could ask him for help on that!

It actually is possible to edit boss AI but from what I've heard it can be a bitch to mess with.

Well, on one note I've been working on tilesets and such, playing around with making rooms (with limited success).  And here I thought rooms would be the easy part.  LOL

Anywho, a little more graphics for everyone (Botwoon is finally finished)...

I already wrote this on the vid, but I'll say it again, I think you should make the body parts a mixture of bones, or the white parts atleast, like make his hands, make those like arm bones, ya know with the -uu- thing going on at the tip. And possiblly make the red areas look more like a mixture of organs. I know draygon is hard as hell to edit, so only take my suggestions with a grain of salt. What you got there is totally fine by itself though.

Ohh and also, I think it'd be neat if you used some of the white and made a bone chest plate, if you chose to pursue the organ idea I suggested. The way he grabs you would be Epic with all of this, it'd be like he's trying to consume you like all his previous victims. Can't wait to play your hack! Grime always is making dark environments, you might want to ask him for tips when you get around to designing the scenery. He also has a code for black haze, that would fit in this hack well, I'd presume. Keep up the great work!

The style clash on more or less all of your bosses doesn't look quite right. I think you should go back and redetail some of these things at some point, unless you plan on doing all of the graphics in a similar style.

you could always just woop out your grapple and fry his ass by shooting the domes that you destroy before he appers  :eyeroll:.

When I was a kid I did not even know that you could destroy them!  :sad:

Draygon was by far the hardest boss of the game when I was a kid!

lol. I never finished the game as a kid. It was a long time ago that I had the game, but I remember getting stuck at the noobtube cause I didn't know what to do... Though I assume I must've gotten past it at some stage, cause I also remember other parts of Maridia. Never got to Draygon, or even lower Norfair.

I like it though! It kinda reminds me of that one room from Metroid Prime, in the chozo ruins. The sunchamber iirc.

For some reason when I uploaded it to photobucket it downsized the pic...   But it's in full high res as an attachment  (used I think it was Jathy's advice to turn an 8 meg .bmp to a 300 kb jpg with paint).

And yes, those are doors.  It's the bottom section of the tower at which the top of you collect the hover suit (is also part of the escape sequence  :wink:  but you won't know how until it's released).  It's also designed so it's not so difficult with highjump boots, but needs walljumping if you don't.  Surprisingly more fun to play than I thought it'd be.

Now that I have seen it in big size... the doors should preferably be on the same level as the floor rather then one tile above... that's just what I think.

And the BG is a bit too bright IMO.

I agree with Crys that the doors should be even with the floor/ceiling.  The way they are now looks kinda off IMO.  The background is very bright, but sometimes that looks cool, especially the way it fades from the darker red to the brighter.  If you choose to tone it down I wouldn't tone it down too much or I think you'd lose the effect you're trying to create.

At least going by that room, this is looking very cool.
