Hey guys.  Let you know that your hack is already made SNES cartridge.
So here you go.

Quietus

There have been a few sites selling them.  They don't mention the version, so you don't know what you're going to get.

Wait, are you saying there are more than one that I show?  What is other website they have?

Quietus

There have been a few threads here before, discussing the topic.  I did a quick search and found this one, but there are others.

Did you collect the "map" at all? If you are where I think you are, collecting the map is what opens the final Gray door.
ohhhhh. I was just about to ask for help, as I've beaten every boss except for the final and I'm missing the plasma beam, I tried following Danidub's map, but I couldn't find the plasma beam where he put it on the map, just an energy tank. I forgot about that map (story) door being locked.

Challenge: The Chozen One (Eris Lowest Possible %)
Objection: Get the Chozen Armor with 0 etanks, 4m/1s/5pb
This requires every upgrade except spazer.
0 etanks because none are necessary.
4 missiles required because of pre-spore eyedoors. (2 packs)
1 super because that's all you need.
5 powerbombs because of springball grey door. (2 packs, first pack is 4)
Rules: No savestates. Console condition.

I was bored, never really did a low %, so I went for lowest possible, and it was fun.

SlyPork

Your gaming setup is gorgeous  :whoa:

Digital_Mantra

The new challenge will be titled 'The Last Resort'. goal: get to the last report with what has been stated above. yep. lowest possible %.
I know when it comes to phant, i will need plasma, for the time being however, I'm maintaining my LP%.

Elminster

Going to give this a go at some point. Botwoon is still kicking my ass, though I just figured out you can leave and reset the fight if things get hairy.

bobisadrummer

So I just learned you made an album for Eris, but it doesn't look available on your site anymore, what happened?

What cart is that? Not the collector's edition cart. :P

I believe that it was only ever made available for a limited time, and is now no longer publicly available.  You could possible ask around on IRC, and somebody may be able to hook you up with a copy.

I pulled it off my site cause I wanted it to be more exclusive to the boxset. Lots of people have it and will likely share it, but I implore them not to.
I have plenty of albums on the discog and you'll find a majority of the EoE tracks taken from them.

I keep seeing mention of custom music for this, but when I play it, it still sounds like all the default music. So did I patch it wrong or what?

Quietus

Oh dear. Links to ROMs are against the rules, so remove it before you get your wrist slapped.

Also, it's not custom music in the game. Digital Mantra (now Windowhead, I believe) created a real-world album of music, which is atmospheric, and designed to fit with the hack. It's no longer publicly available.

A Dummy

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't think it would've been a problem to post something that anyone can just google. But shows what I know.

Oh I feel silly, I thought it was the hack itself was modded with custom music.

JutsBeaumont

Any chance of a third iteration?

I feel like both versions of the game were touching on something very specific, and while 2012 is certainly a more refined version (the alterations to the hud and some of the base sprites, fixing up some of the less coherent room, the additional plasma beam section, reduced HP for many bosses), it lost something important with some of the alterations made to pacing to structure.

Many of the set-pieces that originally stood out to me and defined Eris as an intelligent and meaningful reaction to Super Metroid were edited out. The free Metroid that you have to maneuver around in the third room, getting evasion early in the game and structuring the Spore Spawn boss fight around it, falling into the lake at the start of the game and exploring that entire section, the relative freedom of progression that became impeded by gates.  None of these were things that needed to be apologized for, regardless of accessibility.

CaRmAgE

Completed in 5:15 100%.
It's possible this is because it's been a while since I played the original Eris, but I did not notice that many changes right away.  Ones I did notice immediately include Draygon (Thank you; I hated that fight) and Phantoon (I think I had 3 tanks left in my original playthrough, whereas I had 13 this time; I guess a lot of people had trouble with him?).  Spore Spawn/Botwoon boss rush was still a pain in the butt that took me half an hour to complete, but that's probably because I did not remember where to find the energy tanks until before going to the abyss (had only 1 tank at the time).  The instant deaths early game were also annoying, such as running across a bridge and suddenly being told that I died.  I did appreciate one thing, though; you actually fixed the escape, so it works on ZSNES.  Well done!
A Dummy

Sorry to Necrobump this, but I'm stuck and can't figure out where to go next.
So far the only major boss I've found is Kraid, and I've found all the mini-bosses except for Crocomire.

I keep finding locked doors, but there doesn't seem to be any obvious way of getting them open besides beating one of the bosses I haven't found yet.

I've also found some one-way gates, which leads me to think that I need the Wave Beam, but I can't find it anywhere.

And there is also some spots in the Temple area that look like promising leads, but for one it looks like I need either the Gravity Suit or the Spring Ball so I can get past the water.  The other spot looks like a dead-end, but I'm sure there is some kind of secret path that lets me get in there, I just can't find it.

Here is my equipment to give an idea of where I'm at.

So if someone could help me out and just kinda point me in the right direction that would be great, I've been stuck on this one for a few months now, and I wanna finish this hack before I start another big one like Redesign Axeil.
My two guesses are that I need the Wave Beam or the Spring Ball, but I don't know where either of those are, and I could be way off and in fact need something else altogether.
See that creature inside the glass dome?  You have to kill all of them to unlock the door.
A Dummy

Ok thanks, it hadn't occurred to me those were something I could kill.
I'll try going over there again, and I should be able to work my way through the rest of this awesome hack.

Digital_Mantra

Yeah you need :bounce: ball

A Dummy

And now I just finished it, it only took me about 9 hours. lol
At least I got 92%
I had a little trouble finding the Wave Beam, but once I took a look at my map and saw another spot that I didn't fully explore since I didn't have the Spring Ball, it was pretty straight forward from there. (Although that back and forth Item trail that followed was a little annoying.)

I really loved the different atmosphere going on, especially towards the end.
And the extra gameplay improvements added some nice smoothness as well.

Ishtar

So after trying to start this hack i have run into a problem.
Hack will not start.
I dont know if this is a problem from my site or from my Emulator.

I dont know if it helps but i become from my Emulator this message.
This is the info for the last game you ran.

You used an European ROM (it says (E)). You need to use an American/Japanese ROM, which says (JU).
