I'd have expected some Samus pr0n as the test subject, but whoever floats your boat.

Well I was considering this one, but I didn't want to freak anyone out.

Quietus

It's hard to focus. I'm too distracted by the logo on his chest. :heheh:

Lunaria

Yeah it's not like that asshole deserves to be in zero mission.

Good job though, this will lead to many ending porn hacks in the foreseeable future.

Don't worry, it's not like I respect the guy.

I would've just used porn though since everyone seems ok with it >_>

Quietus

Nah, you just know it's going to be one of the first things somebody puts in there.

PKstarship

Some horrible person will put Samus porn on every ending except the best ending, so when you beat the game on hard with thirteen percent and expect an awesome pic of samus, there will be something so horrible that it will ruin metroid for you forever

Quietus

You could probably do with enlarging it for display, so we can all see its glorious detail. :^_^:

Scyzer
Ignore that everything is positioned wrong. I just wanna know what peoples think about having a grid in the map editor tilesheet.
Quietus

Biospark: That's pretty cool, and I now see visions of even tougher expansion packs than before.

Scyzer: I prefer it. :^_^:

Quietus

I'm surprised the slopes could cope with shunting you up in time to avoid the flats. Or did you amend them? I don't even want to know what happens when you get the Speed Booster.

I have a question, Biospark: will graphics editing be possible with your editor? I don't mean palette changes, but making new tiles, sprites, etc.

Quietus

I suspect not, since that's another editor in itself, and there are already plenty of graphics editors available that can do the job.

This, though I do have some features for custom tilesets, backgrounds, and ending images. Most other stuff is possible with other editors.

PKstarship

I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I don't think I should make a new topic. I made this:

I hope to use it with my upcoming Mega Man 2 hack. It follows the palette limitations of the NES. The normal sprites are black, orange, and yellow, while sprite layering is used to add the red, green, and light green. What does everyone think?

Quietus

They look pretty good, actually. The only bit I think looks a bit 'meh' is the shoulder pads on the larger sprites. Normally, Samus's shoulder pads are round with those spike-like protrusions.

Quote58

Those are really good! Not sure why the helmet forming sprites don't start out sans-helmet like megaman, considering samus without her helmet is a pretty standard thing in the series. Otherwise it looks great though.
I'd love to see a megaman hack where you get the morph ball as one of the weapons and the bombs use the weapon energy. There is lots of potential for a megaman style metroid game.

PKstarship

the reason for the helmet forming animation being absent is because of palette and sprite limitations. the helmet is already a sprite layer, and for me to have Samus's face, there would have to be yet another sprite layer. <insert "Yo dawg" meme here>
Since that would be difficult to pull off, I replaced the helmet forming with the animation for her visor shining before she goes.

Also, I've had that idea of getting power-ups after certain bosses, but I'm not experienced enough to do that yet. I want to make the weapons be switchable when you press select though, similarly to Metroid.

I'll make a proper topic here after I get more done with my hack.

CrAzY

That sprite work is indeed awesome. Great job on that!
