Item Fanfare only on major items

I know that there is a patch somewhere to skip the item collection screen ( as shown in Hyper Metroid )

is there a way i can let minor items (missiles or supers etc) be skippable or shorter, and only have the collection screen pop up for select items?

I want different music to play based on what item ( like missiles VS Gravity Suit, minor VS major items ) which i could do, as i can just replace the start fanfare with the minor item music and have it play that instead, but the collection screen would pop up all the time.
