Fan game I'm making. Based off of the Metroid 2 game for the GB. Game will likely take you 1-2 hours to complete.

Yes. That being said I really wanna get a playable demo out by 1.03.

What's been done since last update:Energy system, powerups, and basic enemies.

In process: display, big baddies, fixing collision system, and mapmaking. I'm bad at mapmaking.

Energy has existed but for the first time an actual representation of the player energy has been added. Likely the only information to be displayed on screen. Also forgot to add a background to it. Quality grade A mapmaking continues. Adding enemy AI that acts to player interaction. Disruptive room transitions can kill the player. (not intended feature)

Hey friendos time for another blog post.

So after Samus spontaneously exploding in the room transitions(too many times this happened) I took action and implemented loading screens between those rooms. Basically looking at 5-8 seconds of loading between rooms. It's pretty gross, and it'll become part of the game if I dont figure out whats causing all the instability*. Feedpack on silly load times is always welcome.

*instability also includes parts of the game stop working. awesome.
