Ruby Nuzlocke Run

This is a playthrough of pokemon ruby version that I'm doing, now this is a nuzlocke run though! :P

Nuzlocke comes with certain self set goals:

1. If a pokemon faints, it's dead. (Some release them, I store them in a special box to keep track of them)
2. You must attempt to catch the first pokemon in every route/cave/etc you enter. This is the only one you're allowed to catch. No legendaries, no breeding.

The funny thing about this sort of run is that things gets a bit more challenging. :P

Now, what I decided to do is name pokemons after people I know, for shit and giggles! :3
So far the death count is 1 and I'm at wattson, he's a bit though so I'm going to grind a bit more before taking him on.

What has happened so far:

-> Chapter 1 (Lazy version)

- Met torchic at route 101, named it Fifo
- Grinded a bit and beat rival
- Met Zigzagoon(1) at route 101, caught but unamed
- Met Poochyena at route 103, caught and named it Cryshi
- Met Surskit at route 102, caught and named Eppy
- Met Zigzagoon(2) at route 104, caught but unamed
- Met Wurmpel at Petalburg woods, caught, but unamed and boxed.
- Met Zigzagoon(3) at route 116, caught but unamed.
- Met Whismur in Rusturf tunnel, caught but unamed.
- Challenged Gym 1, Zigzagoon(2) died at leader battle. (It was not trained and I needed a free switch.)
- Badge 1 get! :3

-> Chapter 2

After the though battle at the gym in Rusturf city trainer GK faced the issue of dah goodz being stolen by team magman. So without any promises of payment we took off after this environmentalist scumbag! After a very quick onesided battle we saved da goodz and some random pokemon who hangs around this old dude. And as Mr. stone is a cheap fuck we are ordered to deliver his letter and da goodz, and all we get is a stinking pokénav which only have one good function: a map.

Without a way to cross the sea we asked the old man we meet earlier if we could borrow his ship, apparently he did not trust me, but he had no issues with taking us where we needed to go. Once we hit land in Dewford I knew right away that I did not have the power needed to take down the gym, so instead we decided to go look for steven stone in granite cave without flash.

Right after entering I used a repel though, just to be sure I could get one of the snassy monsters one floor down, sadly we ran into a zubat. :smileyspam:
However, I would not lose confidence, Fifo kicked his ass down a bit and then I went with a standard pokeball. BEHOLD: Zhs2 joins the team! So after going around through the cave for a while I found an everstone, which went stright up my... wait, no nevermind, I sold it at the store later though. Eventually we found Steven stone, he gave me a TM for steelwing, which Zhs2 ate before I could stuff it in my bag! :sadface:

Later on, Fifo, Cryshi and Eppy teamed up and kicked the whole gyms ass. But all of a sudden, Fifo evolved into a freaking Combusken, after the epic sunglasses moment ended we kicked the gym leaders ass though. The battle was though near the end, but thanks to Cryshis sand attack spam and Zhs2's confuse ray combined with Fifos epic asskicking the battle ended in victory without any loses!

Oh and, if you want to be used for a specifc pokemon then feel free to stick a post in here, otherwise I name them as I go on people I think they fit on. :P

But due to the nature of the run, I can't promise I get a certain pokemon.  :<

Sounds interesting, Crys.  I'd like to request you name any of the Ghastly / Haunter / Gengar line after me, as Gengar is my favouritest pokemans evar! :grin:

Good luck with the run.  I get the impression that without serious grinding, this'd get tough later on, as by then you'd normally have selected some arse-kickers, but you'll be stuck with some dodgy pokemon unless you get lucky.  I presume the plan is not to try and 'cheat' it by reloading to catch a good first in each area?

The only time I have turned the game off and while turn the game off is when I get my ass handed to me so much that over half of my (current) team dies. :P

I already know some WILL die along the way so, yeah. :P

If you catch a Nincada, and you keep the Shedinja that comes from it, call it Parabox.

Sadly I won't be able to get an Nincada, they are only on route 116, and as stated in chapter one, I met a zigzagoon.

-> Chapter 3

After quickly eating another tasty gym badge GK set off for the north part of town to see if there was any fun to do on this island. On the way some random guy asked what was hip and "in", to in which GK quickly responded "Your Mother". Though, unexpectingly the guy seamed to agree that it was quite hip indeed. D:

After exploring around the island some more the party found some random fisher who gave GK an old fishing rod, which he of course, ate. Without the lack of anything more interesting the party set off to hitch a ride to Slateport.

After the party hit the beach of Slateport and dealt with all the morrons attacking them, for no reason, on the beach the party finally arrive in town to deliver da goodz. Since the guy they where looking to hand it too was a bit stuck in the musseum full of team magma jerks, they decided to hit the beach again to train some more!

After a few battles in the sea house though, Cryshi evolved into a Mightyena, fuck yeah! The guy running the place was so stunned by the event that GK decided to hi-jack a few soda pop while he was not watching. Once the show was over the party picked up some more soda pop due to them being much cheaper than super potions and restore more health.

When that was all done the party had no issues kicking the magma grunts asses really hard, apperently their leader did not like that, but due to them being in a public place he decided to not pick a fight. Once da goodz was delivered the party quickly hit the ship back to petalburg and back to devons head office, seeing as Mr Stone was pleased, he gave us an EXP. Share.

Once again the party hit the ship back towards slateport in order to kick more ass over in the unexplored land!
