i tried to add barf kraid without changing music (did this by changing samples and instruments in music collection 27) but the music sounds distorted
used SMART.1.19.8298.21427
p.s. i'm an anti-discorder

I could be wrong, but I don't know if there is any way to do one without sacrificing the other. I believe what you described about changing samples would indeed distort the music in a horrible way, or at the very least, change it enough to where you would notice and get annoyed and feel like you might as well change the song anyway.

I did get a chance to experience Barf-Kraid and Barf Phantoon a few weeks ago when I figured out how to change boss songs with assembly. Lol

I'm almost positive you're correct Omega, I thought the same thing myself, but it's been quite a few years since my tenure with hacking Super Metroid and a lot has changed a far as methods and possibilities of hacking since then. I'm not sure exactly why so many people have a fascination with barf kraid these days lol, but hey, to each their own.

Thanks TobiMikami. Yeah I considered changing the sound effects of the boss in the Enemy DNA editor, but all that would do is move one even further away from the Barf Kraid noise and into some other strange (or mundane) noises.

I'm sure it's theoretically possible, but would certainly take an extensive overhaul of parts of the sound engine by somebody with more knowledge and patience than the average ROM hacker.

Yeah, I appreciate the Barf Kraid for the lolz and that's it.

it's not barf phantoon it's bleh phantoon (mst named this)

i only replace the roar sample in song set 27 with a barf sound
the distortion didn't happen with earlier versions of smart
