Metroid: Operation Save Thanksgiving

Well, here we are. I'm sorry I had to create a new thread for this, since it was already entered into the Fall Hack Contest (link - DO NOT DOWNLOAD FROM CONTEST PAGE), but it seems I have no choice because that thread is now locked. The .ips file I submitted for my hack was broken, so I am creating a new thread for this.

To any of you who downloaded the version 1.1 before January 5, 2018: I apologize. The .IPS file was broken. Fear not, however! I have made a new .IPS which is working, and this time I had someone else test it before I made this thread. If you have any more problems, please let me know! You can contact me via PM or on Discord.

So, with all that out of the way, I present to you:

Metroid: Operation Save Thanksgiving

The Story: A great evil has been lurking below the surface of Zebes, even under the radar of Mother Brain, and it has been reawakened... It has the power to destroy Thanksgiving forever. Can Samus save the delicious annual dinner for the galaxy? Or will our gravy be gone for good?

What's New: This is the definitive version of this hack! Extra polish, as well as level design improvement, all while maintaining the feel of the contest version. (So you should download here instead of from the contest page). As of now, the hack is version 1.1.1 and I don't have plans to update it majorly anymore (although if you find any issues, feel free to point them out and hopefully I'll fix them). This is my first hack, but I plan to move on and hopefully improve on what I learned here.

I found a Hardlock with X-ray, tho I'm not sure why but I think it has to do something with the Tiling background in this room:

Anytime you use X-ray in this room the Game will freeze and I haven't found any way to undo this (music+x-ray can be heard).

In my experience with this crash, it is because of an improperly set item index. I used to have this problem with my hack, but I figured out that the game crashed due to poorly indexed Item PLMs. They were set with a high value of 80, setting them to respawn. I believe they also did not have properly set low values for item indexes. This is likely the problem. I wish I had images of it happening to me, but I guess I never thought to. When it happened to me, the HUD usually disappeared.

I have fixed the bug! See the main post's freshly-updated .IPS file if you would like to grab it. (No reason to have it on here twice). Apply to a vanilla ROM. Saves can be transferred over to the new version.
