Errors in Samus's sprites?

I found some inconsistency in Samus's spritework. When facing left and diagonally up, the left hand can be seen grabbing on to the arm cannon. When she turns around, the left hand disappears, and the visor becomes invisible...?

Was this done to save space? I don't see how not drawing an arm on a few sprites would make or break the game. And then there's the turning sprite...

What the fuck is this?

It's a mess. The arm looks like it was scribbled over in MS Paint, she's not looking upwards, and she's holding her arm downwards while pointing only the arm cannon up...? I tried my best to fix it while keeping it in sync with the facing left/right sprites. The arm still looks weird, but at least it doesn't look like a garbled clusterfuck done by an intern during his coffee break. Or maybe I have OCD.

It's just odd to see how poorly Samus's sprites were done in some cases, especially when the rest of the game looks amazing in comparison.

In reference to the first quote, I think you need to ask yourself this question...

Which is the right theory?

1....When turning around sideways to a person, say you are facing left to them, your right arm is facing away from that person and then when you turn around, your right arm is closer to that person now...

OR

2...After facing left to that person then turning around, your right arm becomes your left arm and your left arm becomes your right arm...

I think you may laugh when you read this and say, dogh why did I not think of that, don't worry I'm guilty of doing some funny things in my life and I'm not having a go at you, but rather putting it in a bit of a humorous way...Because I've done worse funny things in my life...

As for the no arm thing in your question mark, I think that would have something to do with animation, at first you can't see the arm because as Samus moves it, the right arm is blocking view but in the next animation, the arm arrives (well part of it)...And you can't see the visor after turning right because your right arm is blocking the view...

As for the last quote, if the gfx are actually like that in regards to the redline scribble, then I would agree on that one, unless a palette has been changed accidentally...Good luck...

The right arm isn't blocking a thing, because it's seen that when she faces left, the left arm is way lower than the right one. The left arm would be visible from either side. The visor, however, is only PARTIALLY blocked by the right arm, because if you were to copy the left/right facing visors, you'd see that a pixel of the visor is not drawn when it really should be. That's my point, and yet, the left arm disappears when she turns right, and the visor disappears completely. The third sprite in the row is my edited fix.
