As said a few days ago, version 1.13 is finally done
This experimental update is mstly a big fix for people discovering
the game vanilla wise without too much issue anymore change that's been made toward toward 1.12.
- Sector 3 "Unavoidable" Missile tank was moved to another room to avoid missing 100% completion
- Electricity shortage after PB actually occur this time keeping the vanilla path still viable
- the doors after netori fight are now preperly connected (no more vegetation issue)
- The sector 5 rooms connection (after obtainning plasma against netori)
are properly made, avoiding the vanilla path hardlock that was on 1.12
Technically there isn't much to do left aside from the fact to fix the SA-X encounter
in sector 5 that's been messed up somehow , and was the case in 1.00 stable.
And the actual fact of preventing the event to go backward by doing a previous boss.
You can always give feedback here or in the last vid discuting issue for experimental release of the current stable one.
The version 1.13 will , like always be ready to download after this post
on the first message of this thread , remplacing version 1.12.

Air Fool X Ray Tile $0A sets an event when player comes into contact with it. The event is determined by whatever the BTS number of the first 2 tiles in the room are.
To set Event $0E, the top leftmost tiles need to be $00, and then $0E. (Tested with solid and air tiles.)
Set up to allow for extended event array stuff. (To set Event $111, you would have $01, and then $11 in the editor.)
Optional Earthquake triggered if you set the highest byte to $7xxx. To set Event $0E the BTS tiles need to be $70, and $0E.
Got the idea from looking at stuff DSO and neen did with ASM that relied on BTS tiles at the top of the room.
Based on the Endgame BTS template by squishy_ichigo.

Tested in xkas and Metconst asar 1.9.

Metroid: Zero Mission / Dark Samus Color Palette
Last post by Kibold - March 15, 2025, 07:42:56 PMSamus's color palette changed to resemble Dark Samus. I initially started with a black coloration, but since many of the game's backgrounds are dark, she wouldn't stand out very well, so I switched it to blue. The beams, health cells, missiles, bombs, and UI are all changed to have a new palette. The Power and Varia suits have the same colors while the Gravity Suit is something special!
I did all the color changes in Mage, changing each individual color by hand. I wouldn't be surprised if I missed something, so if someone is willing to playtest and look for missing color changes, please let me know.

The next update to ARBO is likely to be v0.4.4.4 with more minor graphical fixes, and not much else. This might be released at the end of March, or halfway through April, depending on my recovery.
The biggest issues I face in regards to more substantial updates, aside from just having had surgery, is my ignorance towards the deeper methods of editing the game, such as writing my own assembly, reading and understanding the ROM and RAM maps, as to learn where certain things I wish to edit are contained, as well as the near entirety of the known issues and future plans list.
I am building v1.0 from a stock ROM, as to better know the inner workings of the changes made to the ROM, instead of running off of observations and assumptions. This is not to say that Kazuto's hack (Sequence Breaking Fusion) is in any way bad, just that it has minor issues with certain music flags, among other very minor things that I'd like to change to set ARBO apart.
If anyone wishes to lend a hand in my journey of learning, post recovery, feel free to message me here, the Metroid Fusion speedrunning discord, or me directly on Discord, username "hedgechild".
I intend on releasing "State of the Romhack"s at least once per month, or once every two weeks depending on if any real progress or learning has been made. As I learn, I will continue to update the beta hack whilst building v1.0, and maybe release a Fission Mode demo for the community to get a taste of. I do appreciate those that has already downloaded my hack, even though it's not many, and hope that many more will download it and enjoy it.
