Tyjet:
For charge beam, try checking the area you defeated Phantoon in.
As far as those pics...
The first door I'm pretty sure leads FROM Crocomire, so until you defeat him it won't open.
The second door, I have no clue.
The 3rd pic I'm pretty sure is just an easter egg, something most people probably won't see.
Thank you but I don't need assistance with charge beam, as I said, it's in
the last area for me.
So where do I look for the entrance TO Crocomire? A hint would be nice.  :^_^:
Check out the room you found the x-ray scope in very carefully.
Wow, I'm an idiot... Thanks lol!

Hiroshi Mishima

They made it so people can't open it in SMILE? Hmm.. I dunno, I always feel like that's kind of a "dick move", really. I enjoy looking into how a hack is built sometimes. But I suppose it's their choice.

sygnus2

All done! 5:20 clear time, and 56.7% items (thought I had more, but it must be the bug popping up again). Couldn't find/get the screw attack, but no matter. This is truly a fantastic hack, and with a tiny bit more polish (fixing the map garbage, that Chozo crash section), this could be something on par with Super Metroid. Great job!

Scyzer

Yer, it seemed that saving/loading in game reset the ram values I used for counting percentage, so if you want an accurate percentage, don't save SRam :O

I made an updated version for Crys that won't get cleared out, but the way the new routine works (it counts constantly through the game) you'd have to start from scratch :/

Diortem

Sorry, too lazy and afraid of spoilers to read all 8 pages.

Quick question:

Am I supposed to be able to break the speed booster blocks with boost ball?

Lunaria

Short answer: No.

Long answer:
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
THE Purple Helmet

So am I the only one who noticed the silver skrees? epic

Tyjet66

Ok, sad to say, but I have given up on 100%, here is my current gear:

+2 E-tanks and charge beam

Daltone

I love this hack. I haven't went through for 100% yet, but it sure is fun to run through!
Fastest time for me so far 00:44 1.3% (used saves, 8 E-tanks + 1 R-tank, 10 missles, 10 supers, 20 power bombs, morph, bombs, mega ball, charge, ice, wave, gravity, speed booster, space jump)
getting speed booster without gravity or grapple is my favorite jump in the game :), Also I found you Crys :)
i finally got a chance to update the files on my snes power pak tonight, and ice metal wouldn't run.  it's obviously not a big deal, but i thought you might like to know that the hack doesn't run on real hardware.

EDIT: Crys is a genius and changed the rom to PAL so I can't open it...

seriously?  wow, that's really shitty.   actually, that probably explains some of my issue, too.

I tested this on my SNES Power Pak and it works just fine. So maybe your doing something wrong...? It worked just fine for me.

EDIT: It was the last beta that worked for me.... The final release is PAL and does not run. Hope this is fixed, cause I'd love to make a cart for this.

Started playing this so far I've been having a good time with it.  So much to explore and I'm really liking the scenery edits.

I think I might be stuck?
I'm near Deep Ice and The Core in the section that separates them by an elevator tube (the thing in maridia in vanilla).  I can't proceed in the core, a door is gray and there are spikes and an impossible jump that way, I can't climb back up the way I came through deep ice without maybe high-jump or gravity suit.  The section near the turtle if that helps.
Edit: Go figure, after wandering around forever and deciding to post, I find the way out.  Hard to see though.

Edit2: Almost forgot, there's a missile pack down near where I thought I was stuck in the ice.  The only way back I could see was to underwater wall jump blindly, which is ridiculous.
^
I really have no idea where the exit he found was.

Lunaria

It's not pal morons, that's just SMILEs standard message saying it can't read a ROM file.

Lunaria

Bug fix and other will be uploaded later today, I suggest staying away from playing until then.

Bond697

awesome the way you like calling people morons.  you called me one for being upset about not knowing where to go which turned out to be your fault.  and now you're calling a bunch of people morons for thinking you did something with a pal rom when smile says it's a pal rom.

Lunaria

1. Yes it might not have been very professional of me to call people morons just now.

2. The door worked fine and you proved it as you managed to enter the area just fine, not my fault: A: You missed the door. B: Did fail several times at reading my posts where I did explain it.

3. SMILE saying it is a PAL ROM does not mean the ROM have to be PAL. If you read the files coming with smile you would know this.

Tyjet66

Well, I'm rerecording my blind run into a different format so I can put it on youtube. While watching it, I have found a couple more items so maybe my 100% goal isn't dead yet; also, I have come up with a few thoughts/questions:
1.I can't wait for a TAS of this.
2.I'm an idiot during blind playthroughs lol.
3.Are you required to kill all 4 main bosses to reach the final ares?
4.I wonder which bosses are skippable (if possible).
5.What is the actual intended method to getting screw attack? (don't release this if it is still to early to do so.)
I abused TAS abilities.
I'll post more when I come up with more thoughts. Oh, one last thing, THIS HACK IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!

Lunaria

Version 1.2 is out: [Download]

----------------------------
Change list:

Several tiling errors fixed.

Statue that lowers lava is removed due to not working in the area he is in, as a result lava is lowered.

Room after statue crash possibly fixed.

Re-Palette packed in the zip file.

Updated Q and A in the read me for more common issues.

Golden Torizo have been modified to have lower health and weakness to a certain beam in none charge form. Room has been modified with more obstacles trying to prevent the "easy kill" aspect of the boss fight.

----------------------------

As you can see item % was NOT fixed. This is due to the code I got from Sadi had some unexpected side effects.
(1 item pick up = 201,9% as well as items respawning after pickup regardless of high value.)

Enjoy!

Orel

Awesome, i've been wanting to play through this again and this is the perfect excuse to do just that.
I'll probably try the re-pallete this time through, and i'll be sure to let you know if i find anymore bugs.

Daltone

Played through Re-Palette, I like these colors better, except maybe the crystal caves in deep ice.
Found a crash..
I think i touched the spikes?
i killed the same monsters in the same room upwards of 10 times then bombed every square inch and shot everywhere.  please, try and tell me that isn't some kind of frakup.  i lost count after my 10th trip around the planet and on one of the subsequent ones the door magically opened started flashing after killing everything.  yes, please continue blaming me.  next thing you'll be blaming is the emulator, and considering i tried snesgt, zsnes, snes9x, and bsnes, it's not that.  point me to the post where you provided this magical explanation.

and considering that you already had to put out another patch, you're really going to try and push it onto me not paying attention(especially considering how thorough i was) and not possibly something wrong?  that in itself is pretty stunning.

while i'm thinking of it, someone else here was saying they thought they were encountering the same issue.  i wonder what happened with that.

squishy_ichigo

Its my fault, blame me, ok? Now your done arguing and we can have fun again! :awesome:

(ie. stop arguing or I'm gonna smack ya)

SM_Fan122

I finished it!

Time: 6:15
E-Tanks: 10/14
R-Tanks: 4/4
Missiles: 215
Supers: 25
Super Bombs: 40

Beams: Charge, Ice, Spazer, Wave, Plasma

Grapple, X-ray

Morph Ball, Bombs, Mega Ball, Screw Attack

High Jump, Space Jump, Speed Booster

Suits: Varia, Gravity

I even found Crys's secret room (If that is what he is calling it...)

Review:
I was very entertain playing this. At no point did I ever get bored. The new Tiles/backgrounds were awesome. The few times that I thought I was stuck, didn't last for long because of the subtle hints Crys that placed for hidden areas. I can say that I have not run into the glitches that a few have mention (other than the morph ball maze issue I posted earlier in the thread). I would have had a better time (somewhere closer to 4:30) but there where a few times that I paused the game instead of the emulator when leaving to do something. Now there is a New patch, I will have to go back and get 100%, and finish my map I'm making for this game. I give this a 9/10. Good Job Crys!
