Super Metroid Final Stand
« on: July 16, 2010, 05:21:33 PM »

100% complete     Super Metroid Final Stand  feel free to rip what you want from this hack or even improve it.
Patch is for an un-headerd rom, and use zsnes when playing because snes9x will cause messed up gfx.
also there are still some issues with in the hack. if someone wants to fix these and update this post that would be
awesome. i am done for quite some time school is getting harder and i lack time. so i also wish you all the best of luck.
take care.
please read the below text. and enjoy

You should move that to the Super metroid board.

Put the images in these [img] tags. Then your set up.

Good room designing. This looks like its got some good stuff. Keep it coming.

I must admit that this looks highly interesting, the graphics mixing is quite good. But I would add 2-3 extra red on the green colors and then lower the green by, say, 2 steps. This will make it darker and have a more green/yellowish tune that mixes well with the black. Also, lower the blue by 2-3 unless it's at 0.

DS: you don't embed such large images due to the amount of scrolling needed.

Are you after a general screen recorder, or one for your hacking?  If the latter, everybody just uses the emulator itself to record.

Yeah, if you just want to record your screen, then pretty much every man and his dog uses fraps, but anything hack related is recorded within its relative emulator.

I've usually seen people record with the SnesX emulator's built in recorder or seen it done with CamStudio. On the other page, I like what you've done with the landing site. I've said this very few times when someone neglects to change the doors, but it doesn't even look like the landing site. Good job so far. ^-^

It may have just been YouTube having a meltdown, but the framerate looked terrible.  May I ask what you were using to record it?

Major props for the aesthetics in that Brinstar area. The lab area was sweet too. You did a good job on the atmospheric effects. I look forward to seeing more of this.

really any scenery GFX that anyone has made and are not using or are using but dont mind me using them as well.
i am hoping to get alot of them so i can sort through and pick the ones i want to use and most likely alter them some.
if you can, include pallets with them please.

as for enemies custom sprites and pallets for them.

video of the new area on 1st post.

few questions real quick for those of you whom may know but i made a mistake and saved on a room and i was over its size. only by a small amount, but at any rate  i know it will over write room data. i found 1 room that i know it messed up because i already had it designed.
long story short i went back to the room that i made the mistake save in and saved it again after making the data lower. then i fixed the room that was over written. so far all seems ok. is there something else that could or will cause a problem in the future or should what i did have fixed it all?
also i asked earlier i want to get a hand on those tools used for the TAS runs. anyone have them or know where to get them?
As always thanks again for the feedback.

level design is about 40-50% complete.

also what IRC are you all on? I would like to join up.

All of the details are on the 'Main Site' page.

If you're already using some chat program, you can bang in the details, or if you're using Firefox, you can just click the 'mibbit' link.

The only complaint I have is with the first suit. It looks a little too bright overall in comparison to the rest of the suits. Maybe tone it down to a little darker grey. Aside from that, the other suits look nice and I'm freaking loving your levels and graphics/graphical style. I'm already more interested in this than half the hacks around here, to be honest.

I've been interested in moderndayzero since he started genocide, and that was awhile ago. :P

Ha! thats awesome that you have that. might i get a copy of it? i may rip gfx from it.
and yea LOL @ myself because i have lost it 2x now.
not now though i back up after every thing i do.
and this is from my understanding is nothing more than a graphical run for your life half hack of the full game.
i haven't nor will re point any doors or room in the game as of now.
i am just doing my best to make it look less and less like the original with more skill in staying alive.
there will be new enemies gfx etc.  it will be a full game none the less.
i have just joined the IRC maybe i will pick up on some of the ASM or something
and make a change. or just join on to someone elses project and contribute what i have.
also the criteria area is going to be changed in this hack. it is far to boring for my liking.
again thx for all the feedback.

and for the white suit i was planing to change that a tad but the other 2 were done.

just curious is that DS guy banned? it says he is but i dont know.
i dont know him i was just wondering because i saw by his name banned.
as always im done with school for the day now back to work on the hack
errr drawing up new tiles.
