Hello! First time ever posting here on Metroid Construction forums.
I'm making this post so i can submit a romhack, a screenshot it's included (as demanded by rules), but since this romhack it's just musical, you won't see nothing different.

So, here:
Metroid Musical Update

As the title states, this romhack updates the music of the game by taking more advantage of the sound driver by:

-Using different effects (triangle kicks and arpeggios for example).
-Adding up the Noise channel for a lot of songs that is unused.
-Some songs have been extended.
-A few songs have their square waves changed.
-Volume tables for Square 1 & 2 were changed for most of the songs.
-Utilizing unused memory dedicated for music.
-Changing octaves.

This romhack can be used as a template for future projects, so you don't need to ask permission to use it at all, only corresponding credits.
It should also work with most romhacks, if not every single of them, by the way (except Rogue Dawn, probably).
A whole lot more was planned, but due to memory issues, or the driver's limitations, it was not possible.
(.txt guide it's included)

Big shout outs to Mindflower for beign of inmense help (and patience).

And last but not least:

M+S (0.5.2) + MMU

This romhack simply fuses Metroid + Saving 0.5.2 (the lastest version of this romhack) by DannyPlaysSomeGames and Snarfblam with Metroid Musical Update, so MMU can be enjoyed for those who do not like vanilla Metroid.

A screenshot isn't strictly necessary considering you had content ready to post. It's just good practice for the case you are actually making a hack with level design and dissuades people from making a "here's my hack progress all areas 0% landing site 50%" topic with zero proof. Also feel free to take this post with a grain of salt considering I have no moderator privileges, it's just my thought process from the time the rules were made.

Ooh i get now, it's sort of a "filter", it makes sense actually. Thanks!

Listened to the title theme and Brinstar's so far, and found them enjoyable.

Do you have an .nst file available for listening?

I didn't work every single song on any tracker mostly, so basically no, i don't have it, however, i will upload most of the songs on YT (although i'm not sure if i can post a link here).

Understood; no worries.

I ended up playing through the game quickly to hear the tracks, and thought overall they were fresh. The feeling I get when thinking about all of them as a whole is that they'd fit a faster-paced Metroid hack that focuses on action.

My least favorite was Norfair; it didn't sound bad - I'd listen to it aside from gameplay. It just didn't feel like it was for a Metroid game. At least, not this one.

And to end on a good note, my favorite was Ridley's boss theme. I was so glad I went to Kraid and Ridley to see if they were separate. I don't remember all of what Kraid's sounded like apart from what it normally does, but Ridley's, although short, felt like such a naturally-themed song. Including the motif of the area Ridley is found in was such a, well, natural progression of the area itself. Chef's kiss on that one.

I might make some .wavs of these myself just to have 'em.

Thanks a lot for both playing and the feedback!
Yeah, i admit that i composed many of the song as "fast-paced".
About Vs. Ridley and Vs. Kraid, i wanted for those songs to have a piece of melody from their respective areas. I also wanted to add more, but due to memory issues (plus it only last less than a minute each boss), it ended up the way you experienced it.
By the way, Mesen emulator has an option for WAV recording.
