The attachment seemed to successfully download, but it got immediately flagged by my antivirus software even though it's just a PNG. Are there security/authentication measures that need to be reactivated to get stuff from here not immediately flagged?

This sounds like your AV being paranoid.  I'm not sure what we could do to affect that.  And also, if the web server where you downloaded a shady file could just send a "trust me bro" flag that affects your AV, then the AV isn't going to be very effective.

For anyone interested in bringing back the skin so the forum looks like it was: I just remembered it was called BlackRainV.2. There is also apparently a BlackRainV3, doesn't look too visually dissimilar.
