Metroid RE:Zero Mission / Redux
BE AWARE THAT RE:ZM WORK ONLY ON THE EUR VERSION OF ZERO MISSION !

20 Years after the original Metroid: Zero Mission made for game boy advance
and multiple attempt and a bunch of variation of the original game improving
or altering it , the project RE is finally a thing!

The goal of the project is to make the EUR version of Zero mission way more
enjoyable for all kind of players [Latest Version is 1.20]
Most of the rooms remains unchanged or slightly edited to allow a faster path, or making the 100% more tricky. because of that unless the ones that forced X ou Y items
to obtain in the original game , a bunch of recolor and also new mechanics
Project ES and Project ZM Unk_Items Was were some major idea to work on Redux / RE:ZM.


Some Noticable Changes:
French, English, Italian, Espanol and German Language support.
Better Graphics Overall
Nuisible glitch being fixed.
Repalette mixing both Original , Nestroid and Unique take
Rebalanced Difficulty
Enchanced mobility and mouvement.
Cutscene are possible to be skipped
Faster transition overall.

Version 0.88 just dropped !
Check the latest version available on the original post !

This version make space jump and gravity suit entirely skipable.
Also this version update the recolor of Brinstar , Kraid , Norfair , crateria and tourian.

This version also fix a glitch that occured when you obtained the fully powered suit
to activate items that you didn't collect like screw attack or gravity suit , it shouldn't be the case any longer.

Kraid lair got edited on the acid pit area to allow a way more early encounter than
the original , know that if the mechanism isn't activated learning how to properly make a horizental shinespark
is necessary.

The map become a progressive version of it , meanning
that if you want it to kept be updated you should get to the map station
in the end the map will show the save point , different door , items location
you could have missed and chozo statue.

As much as gravity suit isn't forced anymore and
ridley appearing before obtaning it like the 0.81 [Stable version]
know that chozodia didn't receive any change yet
so unless you have enough e-tank (At least 3 if you have varia)
to make it across the lava pit and also know how to single
wall jump, you should get it even if you don't have varia suit.

Version 0.89 is on the road making most or every last visual change (sprite excluded for now)
and also fix some others issue that could be found again.

Version 0.95 / 1.00 Preview just dropped !

10 days after 0.88
It's finally time for another version which
will be the "biggest" change in term of graphics
and rebalance , being near the 1.00 version sooner
than anticipated.

As much as a few things from 0.88 as still lacking
0.95 fix the map progression palette somehow but also
import the HQ samus gfx on the statue screen , completely recolored.

also Ridley lair got completely recolored
and also a few sprite (like kraid for example)
and chozodia palette got also recolored.

Kraid is also a bit bulkier in this version to be a better challenge as much it's still a wip thing
(still need to work on the damage output , drop)

I know the mecha timer in Easy mode isn't right and i'll try to find a fix for this.
Also all of the text languages got properly recolored in all 5 ones.

If everything is fine 1.00 should be up Toward 1st half of june 2024
Others QoL and Asm should be implemented if everything is alright
and have the proper time , as well as the final fix about it.

Small Update

Since 1.00 is made , which is obviously not the final version (if there would be one)
I'm taking a break from working on it partially , 1.1 is on it's way but won't be public even if it will be finished
after some time. most of the thing i could have done for 1.0 would be in it.

V1.10 Update !

Finally the 1.10 / 1.1 version is finally done and soon to be approved.
This version change Norfair Room mapping , projectile speed ,
having better recolor than 3 previous version having all sprite recolored and everything else.
(Fix , 5x3 Minimap , custom items. remade custom music , small recolor of cutscene.)

There is a lot of change unlisted there but they are all listed in the read me file on the first
Post there. Game looking more and more closer to the US version in term of possibility even without mage
if we find the corect value and edit the correct thing.

Small info about 1.10
As a few issues had been found for plasma beam statue [Using custom Chozostatue ASM] ,
RE:ZM upload has been halted until
someone find the reason of why the patch used isn't properly working.
Once this issue will be cleared , normal upload will go along.

I decided to give this hack a try and noticed an issue right away

[spoiler]the save station and map station map tiles in the pause menu show incorrectly, but not on the in-game minimap

i don't know for sure, but that sounds like this hack uses map progression: every map station you use will upgrade the map with more information

Like felix said ,it use the progressive map patch. however for some odd
reason some area dosen't show until the 3rd map is obtained. tho it's not really a big deal even if a bit annoying at long it shown at some point (dosen't support well the Axeil edition tile from what i saw)
Also v1.11 (1.10 hotfix and polishing) was done so plasma beam issue got fixed.
also i took time to make slight edit listed on the new read me file. save are compatible from 1.00 to 1.11.
(Tho if you already got plasma in 1.10 , it could cause issues in 1.11 since the issue was fixed)

axeil style map tiles have some issues i gotta fix eventually. some tiles use the wrong white slot etc

Yeah .. also i just realised after running after easy and hard , normal mode , area in norfair that got their sprite edited crashes , gonna fix it right away , which is annoying because unlike the US i'm mostly need to check every corner for the eur X( (v1.11 is still doable btw)

Edit : Problem fixed for 1.11 call was right. it's now 100% possible again in all difficulty normaly.
(PS: Rest of the game was tested in the game without this change, so i guess it shuldn't mess up with anything else in normal)

So i know RE:ZM v1.11 is only been up for 2 day yet but just to let some curious know.

without any issues of breaking 100% like v1.00, Having them at that state avoid serious back tracking and
could save a lot's of time if used wisely. also it is possible than the power bombs in chozodia / crateria shortcut
path got reedited to be semi-vanilla , but i'm taking a real break from it for a few month.

So , it's basically vanilla pathway with a few edit toward ridley lairs,
but what's mostly changing is another conection is made and some tank
got moved in norfair (Maybe others area will have the same treatment without being
too different from vanilla ZM). Also know that for "skipping" kiru guru you need power bombs
(early ofc) and by extension speedbooster meanning fighting Kraid before ridley.

Know that i'm mostly sharing these video to let you see what's possible for a few things,
a bunch of others stuff are possible if you search well for saving times or anything else.

Not much of a post , just a post to say that's Version 1.11 , Readme.txt and Old version file got reuploaded since it was lost after the Att

sorry for the inconvenience and slow update. the same will be done for RE:Fusion During the week-end.

New Version 1.20 Dropped !
After 2 month by sticking with 1.11 , version 1.20 is up publicly !
This version is mostly a bunch of fixes and slight edit in intern / extern
for future version , but also allowing faster path and all.

Gameplay-wise , the most notable one are the color change of water, fixing some Stuff
(Mostly progressive map making it's job now , however in 9th test , getting the first map
make the game slightly freak a bit but nothing displeasant (as it won't ruin your gameplay)
Know this version also mean the return to the Metconst modding
like in the original post making all the link work again !

Also i make my point there , but yes i didn't forget about what i said for RE:Fusion.
BUT as 1.00 is still on hold until the 22th european anniversary , i'm gonna bring the link back once this version is Public only
(0.50 is restaured on the thread tho , even if a lot have changed that's worth a try to wait a bit more)!
