Hello everyone, welcome to Japan Tobi's Metroid Community College, where I share my knowledge, tips and tricks, helpful hints, methods, shortcuts etc. For metroid fan game development. While any programming aspects of the college pertain specifically to Game Maker Studio, all of my tiling tutorials, as well as my slopes and solids layouts are cross compatible for at least SM, tiling is universal. Since we have a ton of SM resources, and not a lot of GM resources, we now have Boot Engine as well as my EMPyRE engine, both very viable, powerful systems, we just need more people who can use them.

For those of you who may not know me, I'm a ten year veteran of the hacking community, I first registered when I launched my project waaay back in 2014, while working on my then Siper Metroid hack, when I couldn't fulfill the image set for my project within the confines, I spent years learning Game Maker with Kousorus engine before Physix released MEngine in 2016. I used this to build my EMPyRE engine, which is mostly complete being used to create The Tallon IV Project, an epic retelling of Metroid Prime with new rooms, lengthened areas and gameplay, new secrets and plenty of exciting things n this epic adventure. You can see some of the gameplay of The Tallon IV Project via my channel, just click one of the tutorials and look for my newest content. The programming tutorials for GM 8 are obsolete, but tiling is eternal.

If you're familiar with HackMi's Metroid Origins, he actually said he used to watch this video when he first started back when i was last working on the project in 2016/17, so there's definitely some potential out there for these to reach some potentially great developers! Anything you'd like to know about? Drop a request and I'll try to make a tutorial, otherwise I'm going off things I believe would be "most universally useful" hence the majority of my teaching content being tutorials.
