Hello! Making the account so I can rate hacks I play, put my insight so it might help other players and interact with the community.

Cheers!

Welcome! Have fun  :heheh:

SpineShark

Hello!
I've been playing Metroid romhacks for many years now, and I thought it's about time I write some reviews.
Also I'm trying to make my own hack atm.

Toodles!

Cool! You should definitely post your hacks once they're playable!

TobiMikami

Yes, drop your hacks indeed. It seems like we've been having a dry spell over here lately.

Look at main site. It's not the steady stream it used to be, but we've been getting new hacks. They just don't get talked about on forums as much as they used to.

TobiMikami

Oh shit what upppp. Usually I find out about new hacks when MST or OatsnGoats stream it cause I get a subscriber notification, they must be slackin' hah.

el gatito

Aeon

Heyo.

Been around playing Metroid hacks for a bit and figured I'd write some reviews.
Maybe one day I'll look into making a hack, but we'll see.

See y'all around.

Hey  good to see more people everynow and then.

DreadX--Varia

Hi, guys! I'm DreadX--Varia, and I am a HUGE Metroid fan! I've been a fan of the series since...I don't even remember. No, I'm not a boomer. I've just loved the series for years.
Anyway, I've had a Metroid game idea in my head for a while now: Metroid Reckoning. I planned on making it on Scratch (DordusRising is my account), but I recently discovered some potentially nifty tools for making Super Metroid hacks! So, if it doesn't work out on Scratch, I plan to use something like SMART to make a hack. Fun fact: I beat Super Metroid Subversion on the day of this post.
That's enough about me. I'm hoping to get to know ALL of my fellow Metroid fans!

Phenoix12

Hi I'm Phenoix12 (yes I know it's spelled wrong, it's intentional) but most everyone calls me Phen anyway.

I've always loved Super Metroid ever since I was a kid, Metroidvanias are my favorite genera of game.

I have a passive interest in learning to hack metroid but don't really feel like I have the time. But I will still love to join in this community.

Currently my interest also includes modding Morrowind where I am part of a mod team doing level design work.  Odd to say that I really love level and map design but I do.

Greetings and salutations. Those who know me call me June, or other things at times. I post this so I may submit a hack. Good day.

Mayhemski

Hi Folks, I'm Mayhemski a noob to the community itself, but a lover of Metroid. I played Fusion and Zero Mission with my cousin growing up a lot. After a 12 year gaming hiatus, I got back into playing games after finding sobriety (and I love it.) Feel free to chat me up about anything or if you need a friend to talk to; if I'm available I love to be there for folks (: aside from the Metroid series my favorite games of all time are Bloodborne, Nine Sols and Doom 64.

I'm new to anything hacking, playing them and at some point I hope to try learning to make one. Anyway, I hope whoever sees this has a good day; maybe I'll see you around the site or in discord. (:

TheAutumnWizard

Hello, I'm Autumn and I love Metroid, Metroid fan games, Metroid rom hacks, and mods for games that make them either metroidvania-esque or add content from Metroid games.
My favourite Metroid game is Metroid Fusion, and I think they didn't do Dread very well.
The map didn't need markers because there's no map rooms, and the xray scope wasn't used effectively. I found every secret you were supposed to need it for without it.
I'm not a fan of how they dropped all the stuff with the Galactic Federation and the Metroid cloning lab samus destroyed in Fusion and downplayed the significance of Adam the Ship AI/CO.
And lastly, I wish they'd never moved to 3d graphics. Metroid has the best 2d pixel art of any game series and the fact that Dread has none because it's all 3d just breaks my heart.
Other than those issues it was still very fun to play, it just doesn't live up to the greatness of being Metroid 5.

Another gripe: I don't like Metroid Samus Returns, or any remakes, other than Metroid Zero Mission. NEStroid is far harder and less forgiving than the future titles, and players wanting to get into the series from the beginning, or see where it all began, will be met with a frustrating game that shows its age.
I'm sure there are people who have beaten it and who can even vouch for how enjoyable it is, but me?
I greatly appreciate Zero Mission, as a way to experience Metroid 1 and actually beat the game.

Metroid 2 on the other hand is great, I've beaten it, and it's really not too difficult (probably around the baseline or a little harder for Metroid 2-5), and I think it sets the precedent for the games to come since then. The first of the greats.
