Its probably just a resprite of the metroid or mocktroid enemy but without doing damage to samus.
Probably the option non-responsive in smile = no harm + ignore shots
Thats the easy way to do it and because I dont think there is custom asm in this exept the PB stuff.

Metroids do collide with walls so they can break enemy blocks

So benox50 that's what you think this hack is?  Just a graphical hack from project base? Lol

Well it's seems some players/members don't pay attention on a lot stuff and just make they own conclusion without even digging

Well, I'm not gonna let that as unknown.

Al I can say this hack has more work than many others I'm not going to write how much new stuff I added including ASM! And many more modifications on Bosses, enemies, Fx1 flexglow, tilesets, PLMs etc.etc..

It seems members just come to make it look like a simple hack.

Honestly I don't know how this recent comments  makes me feel... many players don't even know how to play, they die and they come here just to criticize it..

Another thing is how they keep saying it's a half hack without even trying to get the 100% or the 104%  :nuhuh:

It was a fairly recent comment, and I am curious about the Baby Metroids. There's a lot to the hack that definitely feels like the original, but then there's a ton more that feels like it's new.

Don't be so defensive.   Let the hack stand on its own merits.   If you read through the thread there is FAR more praise than derision.  You are never going to please everyone.

I played an earlier version and I would characterize it as a half-hack, albeit a very polished and graphically pleasing one.  Maybe it's less so now, haven't played in awhile.

Oh! I didn't even notice it had been updated. There wasn't a version number on the title screen and the "Super Metroid" title didn't have the subname, but once I updated there was a version number and the subtitle of "Ancient Chozo."

Going to have to start a new game to see what's new.

Man you took this too personal, sorry if I sound cold
I was answering the previous comment while being neutral stating facts and not criticizing anything.
I like trying to understand how things are made and so answering the guy could maybe help people into doing a similar thing.
The way I said I think there are no custom asm dont mean a bad hack, it doesnt mean you didnt put effort. I shouldnt have said that actually.

The true part is I prefer a full new level design hack, but again it doesnt mean this hack is bad
I consider this hack the best looking hack made yet and I think thats quite an achievement.
You successfully sticked it on my inner wall of best hacks, Im refering it when talking about amazing visuals and I will probably still refer to it in the future. You should be proud man

I get exsalted after reading your comment Benox50 for many reasons, and i apologize for that, it's not you buddy, i just thought you was one of those members who says is just a graphical/palette change from PB.

you know,..  happens that  i have recibe some unfair comments/rates from players just because this is a lineal hack or they think is the same as PB map, enemies, etc, or those who don't even know how to solve some puzzles or find another way to figure out what to do in a situation, like in  the turtle room, in this part of the game you don't really need super missiles to grab the energy tank or kill the chozo, this part is actually another puzzle, not mentioning many others reasons.. But  if only players had read the entire description and features on this hack, they will easy find out what to do, or not dying on every water spike room just because they don't know how to backflip or use  Diagonal bomb jump, many silly reasons more that some players says but some of those don't even take the time to do a full gameplay and they come out complaining...

Also!
for to all those who thinks this is the same of PB or half hack, play version 1.1.0 get the 104% and then give a opinion.

A lot comes together and you recived all my annoyance Benox, I'm really sorry, but i understand now, why some SM hackers can be such a rude...

I spent about ten minutes in the room behind the grapple beam trying to actually quickhop over the crumble blocks, before I finally thought to use the diagonal bomb hop in mid-air. After the default hop didn't work I had figured that it just had to be done the hard way, but man, once you do figure it out it is a very helpful mechanic.

Yeah, so annoying.  I came back for this much later with tons of supers, but at this point the E tank is just a novelty heh

Ohhh, I completely forgot about the backflip mechanic, that makes a lot of sense though. That just means there's two easy solutions to it.

A strategy I realized I could do, but I wanna try it with the actual gravity suit to see if evading the security system actually is possible.
Edit: Yep, it's possible, but you need to be careful just in when you land upon it. Easiest non-cheese "bomb" method is to use springball.

Hi Albert! Great hack! I decided to join the forums here so I can rate it. Currently playing and missing 2 missile packs. But overall, I love the whole redesign, secrets, puzzles, and really just about everything. There are a few "annoying" areas but I just chalk it up to me being bad at Metroid. Lol Now that I've posted on the forums, maybe it will allow me to rate the hack now :)

A question about the X-Ray Scope... in the first post of this thread you say that players no longer have the X-ray to depend on, however in the two videos you posted recently, it shows that you've obtained the x-ray scope at some point. I've been looking everywhere for it, is it still in the game? I'd very much like to find it if it is.

Thanks!

Also, this hack is gorgeous and has been great to play through so far. Keep up the good work!

Well, about x-ray you going to get it, but only for the very last area of the game, in my videos I used quick method (Test Rooms) in this option  i can enebled with out grab it.

Josephur

I just want to say this is the best looking Super Metroid hack Iv'e played so far.  Really enjoying it!

albert v.

Thank you Josephur :) comments like this motivates me a lot to do my best, and next updates will be more interesting improving graphics so many new areas are in plans, also new features and why not? Some new extra ammo packs, hopefully soon I'll come out with another update, also many annoying spikes will be removed as some blocked passages will be open so can be less lineal and goodbye to those spikes on walls that prevents players to grab early items also damage on those spikes will be decrease, also some less health on  spore spawn and some very high health enemies, and of course many new secrets rooms and better quality on new graphics drawn by me and  some other improved from the game, so very soon I will add some new screenshots  :^_^:

Also a official website is in progress for this hack!

altoiddealer

:whoa:  Looking forward to the updates!  Will take this for another spin at that time!

Josephur

Does anyone have a full map for Ancient Chozo?  I'm not having any luck locating one.

albert v.

Sorry but I'm not planning to make a full map till I make final version of it, since I decided to add Many new Rooms and areas, there's no point making one, and it you want to find all secrets on YouTube is a full walkthrough of 8 hour's so in the video shows all secrets and upgrades
Also here's some advice look behind broken chozo statues and don't miss any pipe with out checking it, look into suspicious tiles and under chozo statues.

To be honest having the X-Ray scope would be a massive help in finding stuff, especially since this hack is growing and changing so much. I know you have this cool end game concept with it but players should have the option so they can find 104% a bit easier.

If powerbombs revealed the different block types like bombs do, that'd help too.

actually thinking about it, i think power bombs DO just that now. If so then my previous post can be ignored. Do correct me if im wrong.

caauyjdp

Wait, 104%?
I did think it's odd that I only had 3 reserve tanks, but percentage did say 100% so I trusted it.
I'm at 235missiles50supers50pb, and all upgrade slots seem full(except that 4th reserve).
Are extra 4% just random/glitched expansions that are missing from end % for some reason or are they something special worth finding?

albert v.

I didn't want to mentioned before but it's true, power bombs will reveal entrance to all those secret room/areas lol I wanted to add that long ago, but I didn't thought it would necessary till this updates, so yeah! Power bomb will be very helpful finding secrets on next versions and about the end sequence, I will make changes for sure so Low % can be possible but I'm not sure working on tourian on this version since I'm thinking to make radical changes to that area! But I still thinking about it, I don't want to spoil to much but it something very very interesting thoughts for scape sequence on the final version but all depends on limitations of the ROM something I can garanti is more and new graphics for many areas and torian will not be the exception!

seems that you're missing 15 missiles and the last reserve tank, so with all that, you'll have the 104%.  The main secrets are in brinstar and after crocomire.
