Rumor new 2D metroid in development

I  mean the Samus returns itself teased new 2D metroid and Sakamoto said that he want make new 2D metroid without 3DS limitation.  this comes from the same guy that teased Samus returns before the reveal.

I heard that it was going to be another remake, but I really do hope it's a new game, we do not need any more remakes. Although it is interesting to see when the new game will take place.

I say give us a massive map, or multiple worlds, beautiful pseudo 3D backdrops, loads of collectibles and secrets, and screw the story / timeline. :^_^:
