about 25% done with my hack: Super Metroid Radon
and i noticed that mapping is a PAIN IN THE well you know..

Is there an automapping patch around? an easier way to apply map tiles to areas where there are none?

Nope, and there's unlikely to ever be one. The map graphics can easily be edited, and it would be impractical for any map editor to know which graphics are supposed to be treated as which type of tile.
I could certainly make something that reads room data to know the dimensions, where doors are and what direction, but knowing which tiles to place into the map editor to match that information is a bit much.

oh well, thanks for the insight. I find it a bit hard to manipulate tiny tiles on the map correctly as well as moving rooms
