Adding a map station to ceres

I've managed to get this more or less where I want it to be, but when I "access map data" in quickmet, the game crashes after the screen goes black for the map screen transition.

My other map stations in other areas are working normally, so I feel like maybe there is a pointer related to the map station PLM or the Ceres map info that I need to alter.

Is it possible to add a map station to Ceres? If not I will just move my rooms to a different area and redo them. Originally I was hoping to use the tourian set later on in the game and use some modified Ceres rooms to represent the areas inside the "ship" Samus will be utilizing to travel around the planet's various landing sites. But if that isn't possible, I'll do it the other way.

Ceres and Debug areas do not have functioning pause screen maps by default. Luckily, a local Jampion made some patches which fixed this, as found here. This should solve your problem, but in the event that it doesn't please, please, please be sure you make a backup/copy of your rom before applying it. This way if something breaks, you have something to fall back on.

There's also a bunch of resources that haven't been moved over to the new site. Check 'em out sometime at http://old.metroidconstruction.com/patches.php?x=top and see if there's something useful.

Thanks! I have been reading all of the threads but couldn't find the link. I will be sure to check out those patches as well!

And yes, I am making all the backups, lol. Learned that from making print on demand boardgames. I have already broken some hack branches a few times messing around with Ceres but so far thanks to the documentation and help guides here I have been able to fix things or go back one iteration.

Edit - applying the ceres and debug patch from the link seems to kill the onscreen graphics in every iteration I've applied it to, though the map station does function properly afterward. The main game screen turns green and if I have screw attack lit up, when Samus goes into a spin I can see a black shadow outlining elements of the tile tables where Samus stands behind them. I am not sure what's up with it but have tried everything I can think of, including messing around with the FX layers.

The screen graphic error doesn't occur outside of Ceres. So I am guessing it must have something to do with the haze layer effect, which I've tried to alter to no avail.

Update - decided to just put the rooms someplace sensible instead and everything is working as it should again :)

Edit - Months later, after doing lots of other stuff, I understand how to use this patch now, and have added it back to the hack. My issues stemmed from using a couple different versions of smile and not moving the rooms I was editing into an area other than ceres while editing. Thanks for the help!
