Given this is the only complete hack for Metroid II on the main website and its focus is on challenge, I thought it would be appropriate to create a topic for anyone that's tried this hack and were lost at some point.

The hack in question may be found on the main website here: http://metroidconstruction.com/hack.php?id=308

1. Introduction

In Metroid 2: Challenge, not much has changed from Vanilla M2 in terms of items. You start with Power Beam, Missiles, and Morphing Ball. A big difference is the hack will start a new file with 1 unit of energy and 0 missiles, but this issue will be resolved later in the hack.

After starting a new save file, Samus lands her craft to eliminate the staggering 99 Metroids detected on Planet SR388.

2. Landing Site

From the ship, begin proceeding to the right of the screen.

You will come across this wall that is very impenetrable and unscalable. Decide that this was probably the wrong direction and head past the ship to the left.

You will come across another high wall on the left side of the map. Use missiles to create an opening.

Remember that this hack did not give you any missiles to start with and no way to refill them yet. Attempt to walljump up the left wall.

Remember that Metroid II does not natively have walljumping and no known ASM hacks exist to implement this. Upon observation that the remaining Metroids left in the pause menu is ---, decide that Samus needs a vacation anyways and proceed back to your ship to leave Planet SR388.

3. Credits

Just watch and revel in your accomplishment.

So, there you have it. This is my first walkthrough that I've written so do let me know if there's anything important that I missed that I should add. Hopefully this helps out and can inspire some creative ideas for any future M2 hacks with the recently released Return of Samus Editor (ROSE).
