Dear Metroid fans!

I am currently pitching the idea of a Metroid book in the vein of Hyrule Historia via our #Metroid30 community on social media. If you are not familiar with Hyrule Historia, it is a collection of information and artwork on each game, including a timeline and a manga. Through a "crowdspeaking" platform called Thunderclap, we have been pitching the idea to Metroid fans and supporters to get their voices heard.

Immediately, I can already predict what you are thinking. Why would Nintendo give this a second thought? and until I started to look into this, I would have agreed with you. The good news is that I have been talking to people behind the scenes to make sure that this campaign is actually looked at, and while there's no guarantee a book like this will be made, this could be at the very least, the start of a discussion between Nintendo and a suitable publisher.

This is where the Metroid community comes in! I want to hear your suggestions for the content of this potential book. We also want to know if this is something that Metroid fans would be interested in, and be willing to purchase if ever created. I think it's absolutely essential that the fans get their ideas heard loud and clear!

Here are some suggestions that I have received so far, which might help to get the ball rolling:

A timeline and full story synopses, full art archive are a must

A speed running section, the series basically started speed running

Recognition of its mini manga series. I feel it doesn't get much attention

Biological data on creatures, even the most obscure ones

Cutting-room floor content surrounding Metroid Prime and the infamous N64 game

Storyboards, concept art, things that were planned but didn't make the cut

You can check out the Thunderclap campaign here! We still encourage the support, despite reaching the goal so we can grow our social reach even further:

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'm looking forward to hearing your ideas!

Quietus

If you're having a section providing details of the creatures, it may make sense to also include data the worlds Samus has visited and her weapons / upgrades throughout the series too, including Samus's ship.

Lunaria

I would be very interested in as much behind the scenes information there is about the development of super metroid. :v

Digital_Mantra

I want to know what kind of ramen they were eating during long nights coding super metroid; I want to know what music they were listening to while level designing.

Steel Sparkle

*impossible demands*
In all seriousness something like this would be pretty cool to read through.

Miepee

If Nintendo would release something like this, I would like to have an explanation on who the dead guy before Kraid in Super Metroid is.
