IPS patching

Most of the time auto-patching works perfectly but i have came a cropper with Z-factor. Followed the same process as other hacks but when i load it it looks all glitchy then crashes my emulator. Any tips on what i might need to do differently? Tried 2 different emulators but the same problem occurs. Thanks guys.

Obvious question first: You're using an unheadered ROM?

Does it work when you hard patch it?

You're welcome. Just FYI, 99% of hacks here are for an unheadered ROM, so always try that first. Those few hacks that aren't are usually clearly labelled. :^_^:

I'm trying to patch Hyper Metroid and Phazon Hack to Super Metroid ROM's but Lunar IPS does not recognize the downloaded patch files because they are in .RAR File format. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I got the files from the MetConst hack page.

A RAR file is an archive file. You must use WinRAR or 7zip to extract its contents.
